The Ruff Tuff Cream Puff Estate Agency is a feel-good musical about community and DIY activism from the 1970s, based on an original work by the late activist, poet and playwright, Heathcote Williams.

As Cardboard Citizens turns 30, the Company has announced a new partnership with Belgrade Theatre and Coventry UK City of Culture 2021 to deliver a bespoke programme of work co-created with local people with lived experience of homelessness, culminating in the staging of a brand new musical – The Ruff Tuff Cream Puff Estate Agency.

Queer|Art, the New York City-based non-profit supporting the creative and professional development of LGBTQ artists, is pleased to announce the Fall 2018 season of Queer|Art|Film at IFC Center (323 Sixth Avenue at West 3rd St.), September 17-December 3. Curated by filmmakers Ira Sachs, Adam Baran, and Vanessa Haroutunian, the season brings together an eclectic mix of independent, experimental, and Hollywood cinema, presented by a multigenerational lineup of queer visual artists, poets, composers, and cinema legends. A highlight of the season is a special experimental shorts program on the evening of December 3 (organized with legendary experimental filmmaker Barbara Hammer), which coincides with the announcement of the winner of the 2018 Barbara Hammer Lesbian Experimental Filmmaking Grant. A full itinerary follows. All screenings begin at 8pm.

Four hundred years after the death of William Shakespeare, The Museum of Modern Art will screen 21 films based on his iconic writings in Breaking Bard: Shakespeare on Film, today, October 12, through October 24 in The Roy and Niuta Titus Theaters.

Based on Roy Hutchin's POETRY CAN F*CK  OFF, the Cockpit draws on the idea of weaving Williams' words with guest performers, music, visual wonders, and ritual money burning to explore topics and provoke new thinking.

So powerful a creature is the huge beast that it has only one natural enemy: man. But it is also up to us to be sure this intelligent and loving pachyderm will thrive so we, in turn, can do the same.

After its initiation at Biekie Bosman Festival, Groot Marico, Oom Schalk, from the Heart has ridden into town to charm audiences of all ages. The show will be performed at Kalk Bay Theatre from Today to Sunday from 26 March to 6 April at 8pm.

Kenyan Jim Nyamu has embarked on a mission to walk a 560-mile journey this September from New England to the International March for Elephants in Washington DC on October 4. He walked to the stage production of 'Sacred Elephant' by Heathcote Williams, starring Jeremy Crutchley, at Manhattan's La MaMa E.T.C., 74A East Fourth Street, Sunday September 15 at 3:00 PM.
