Sundance Now Acquires Critically-Acclaimed Scripted Comedy MOTHERLAND from Lionsgate

Sundance Now, AMC Networks' premium video streaming service, announced today the acquisition of BAFTA-nominated hit British television series 'Motherland' from global content leader Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF.A, LGF.B), which has worldwide rights to the comedy. The critically-acclaimed series, written and created by Sharon Horgan, Holly Walsh, and Graham and Helen Linehan, will make its exclusive U.S. debut with the first two episodes premiering on the service Thursday, May 10th. New episodes of the half-hour comedy starring BAFTA-winner Anna Maxwell Martin (Philomena, The Night Watch), Lucy Punch ('A Series of Unfortunate Events', Into the Woods, 'Ben and Kate'), BAFTA-nominated Diane Morgan ('Cunk on Britain', Me Before You, Funny Cow) and Paul Ready (The Death of Stalin, 'The Terror') will stream weekly every Thursday until its season one conclusion on June 14th.

WILD WOMEN OF PLANET WONGO Invades Chicago

"Wild Women of Planet Wongo" (Wongo) invades Chicago starting June 8 at the Chopin Theater, 1543 W. Division, following a long-term successful New York run. This immersive sci-fi musical comedy spoofs madcap 60s B movies while placing the audience into the middle of the experience. "Wild Women of Planet Wongo" was written by Ben Budick, Steve Mackes and Dave Ogrin and is directed by David Rigano. The first block of tickets are on sale on April 20 for shows June 8 through July 14. Performances are Thursdays and Fridays at 8 p.m. and Saturdays at 7:30 and 10:30 p.m. The show is recommended for those over 16-years-old except for Saturdays at 10:30 p.m. which is strictly 21-years-old and over. Review Roundup: Critics Weigh In On TRUTH OR DARE

Lucy Hale and Tyler Posey invite you to play Truth or Dare. Wanna play? The film hits theaters this month. Directed by Jeff Wadlow (Kick-Ass 2), the thriller co-stars Violett Beane, Nolan Gerard Funk, Hayden Szeto and Sophia Taylor Ali. The film was produced by Blumhouse's Jason Blum and executive produced by Wadlow.

BWW REVIEW: BRIGHT STAR Flickers at Hanover Theatre in Worcester

In a brief engagement at the Hanover Theatre in Worcester, Mass. (which ended this Sunday), the national tour of Steve Martin and Edie Brickell's southern musical BRIGHT STAR flickers between down-home country charm and maudlin storytelling. Strong performances and a kickin' on-stage bluegrass band, though, manage to knock off the tarnish of this tepid tale of hope and redemption to deliver an uplifting message in the end.

CSUF'S IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST Opens Friday

"The Importance of Being Earnest" by Oscar Wilde, directed by Department of Theatre and Dance faculty member James R. Taulli opens this Friday, April 20th, and runs through May 6, 2018 in the Young Theatre on campus. Jack and Algernon each "reinvent the truth" to woo the women who have captured their hearts. When the gentlemen are coerced to reveal their web of lies and reveal themselves to their ladies, being 'earnest' takes new meaning.

The 2017-2018 Hoff-Barthelson Music School Master Class Series continues with one of the leading interpreters of great classical masterworks, violinist Rachel Barton Pine. Ms. Barton Pine will coach HBMS violin students on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at 12:30 pm, at Hoff-Barthelson Music School, 25 School Lane, Scarsdale. The public is invited to observe the Master Class free of charge. Later that evening, Ms. Pine will perform at the School's Spring Benefit as guest soloist where she will be joined by students from the School's Honors Program in a dynamic performance of "Summer" from Vivaldi's "Four Seasons."
