Jonalyn Saxer grew up in Oak Park dreaming of becoming a star on Broadway. After making her debut in 'Bullets Over Broadway,' Saxer has continued from one show to the next, shining with her superb dancing abilities and versatile singing and acting. This July, she returns to her home town to play the key role of Katherine Plumber in 5-Stat Theatricals' production of 'Newsies.'

The Guthrie Theater today announced the cast and creative team for Sweat, written by two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage and directed by Tamilla Woodard. Sweat will play July 16 – August 21, 2022, on the McGuire Proscenium Stage.

A much loved, regular participant of the Seal Bay Festival, the acclaimed Cassatt String Quartet will return to the 19th Seal Bay Festival of American Chamber Music, July 5 - 16, 2022. Front Row Productions was established by award-winning producers Stephen Byrd and Alia Jones-Harvey to bring major works to Broadway and the West End featuring diverse casts, creative teams and management. In furtherance of that mission, the producing team founded the Front Row Productions Fellowship in 2021 to support the development of gifted theatrical producers of color and increase the diversity of work produced on Broadway.

Butch Mach, Alley Theatre Board Chair and Chairman of the Alley Theatre Vision for the Future Campaign, has announced that the Tony Award-winning Alley Theatre received a $25 million matching grant from an anonymous donor as part of the $80 million Alley Vision for the Future Campaign.
