The Old Globe presents the World Premiere of Some Lovers, a new musical with book and lyrics by Tony and Grammy Award winner Steven Sater and music by Academy and Grammy Award-winning legend Burt Bacharach.

The Old Globe's 2012 Summer Season will feature the West Coast Premiere of Divine Rivalry by Michael Kramer with D. S. Moynihan and directed by Michael Wilson and the San Diego premiere of Yasmina Reza's Tony Award-winning play God of Carnage directed by Richard Seer.

The Old Globe today announced the cast and creative team for the West Coast Premiere of Dividing the Estate, the final play by Pulitzer Prize winner Horton Foote. Directed by Michael Wilson, Dividing the Estate will run Jan. 14 - Feb. 12, 2012 in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center.

Today, The Old Globe and CEO/Executive Producer Lou Spisto announced that Mr. Spisto is leaving The Old Globe to work independently as a producer. Mr. Spisto was appointed Executive Director in October of 2002 and assumed the position of Executive Producer in January of 2008.

Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced the cast and creative team for the World Premiere of Somewhere, a new play by Old Globe Playwright-in-Residence Matthew Lopez. Lopez's play The Whipping Man was a critical success in New York last season after receiving its West Coast Premiere at the Globe in a production directed by Giovanna Sardelli. Sardelli returns to direct Somewhere, which will run in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center, Sept. 24 - Oct. 30. Preview performances run Sept. 24 - Sept. 28. Opening night is Thursday, Sept. 29 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are currently available by subscription only. Single tickets will go on sale on Sunday, Sept. 4. The Old Globe has announced it's upcoming events from September through December. Among the theatre's offerings are THE TEMPEST, MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, and SOMEWHERE.

The Old Globe hosted its annual Gala on Saturday, July 30 honoring San Diego philanthropist Audrey Geisel and her significant contributions to the Globe. Darlene Shiley and Sheryl White served as 2011 Gala Co-Chairs.

The cast of Engaging Shaw features Rod Brogan (George Bernard Shaw), Natalie Gold (Beatrice Webb), Angela Pierce (Charlotte Payne-Townshend) and Michael Warner (Sidney Webb).
