Actor Shavey Brown will be making his Off Broadway debut when he joins the cast of the long running musical THE FANTASTICKS on Monday March 28 - and making theatrical history, as he will be the second African American - and the first since 1977 - to step into the role of El Gallo since the production began performing 56 years ago, say the shows producers, Al Parinello and Catherine Russell.

Jack F. Lee (born John Francis Lee), beloved musical director of both stage and screen, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2016 in his home at the age of 86. Mr. Lee was one of Broadway's leading conductors and musical directors who worked with composers/lyricists John Kander & Fred Ebb, Cy Coleman & Dorothy Fields, Jule Styne, Richard Rogers, Stephen Sondheim, Charles Strouse, Alan Jay Lerner, Maury Yeston, Robert Wright & George Forrest, Sandy Wilson, Bob Merrill, Betty Comden & Adolph Green and Harvey Schmidt & Tom Jones.

The Jerry Orbach Theater (1627 Broadway), home to the longest running musical in the world, THE FANTASTICKS, believes the best present might be the magic of theater as they announces a first of its kind "SEAT OWNERSHIP AT THE FANTASTICKS" program. Much like the subscription style table sharing system that is employed at the world famous NYC restaurant RAO's where loyal customers have their own tables, fans of the show will be able to choose their seat of choice for any 12 performances throughout one year's time, specially designated with a plaque on that seat. Subscribers will be able to transfer tickets to friends or family or co-workers, should they choose. The subscription fee is $500.
