After five weeks of packed houses and standing ovations, Toronto audiences couldn't seem to get enough of the touring production of Tony Award-winning musical FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, starring Harvey Fierstein. Due to popular demand, the production returned to Toronto's Canon Theatre for one week only, and will close on June 13, 2010.

Due to popular demand, the production will return to Toronto's Canon Theatre for one week only, June 8 - 13, 2010. Tickets to this limited return engagement are now on sale.

Kelsey Grammer and Douglas Hodge, the Tony Award-nominated stars of LA CAGE AUX FOLLES on Broadway, are featured on this weekend's edition of NY1 Onstage. On Stage airs Saturdays and Sundays from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM and again from 7:30 PM to 8:00 PM. It repeats on Mondays from 9:30 PM to 10:00 PM and Tuesdays from 12:30 AM to 1:00 AM.

Casting for the 60th Music Circus season is nearing completion. After auditioning performers in New York, Los Angeles and Sacramento, California Musical Theatre Artistic Director Glenn Casale is finalizing the acting company for the seven-show season at the Wells Fargo Pavilion. Seattle's Paramount Theatre is currently presenting the tour of the Tony winning classic "Fiddler on the Roof" starring the unstoppable force of nature that is Harvey Fierstein. And while this show has never been one that I could get into, the cast infused it with enough heart and humor that even a non-fan like me had an enjoyable evening.

Launching a new 'tradition' Harvey Fierstein replaces Topol in the North American tour of the TONY award winning musical FIDDLER ON THE ROOF. Chaim Topol, regrettably informed the show's producers he would have to leave the production due to a shoulder injury requiring emergency long term treatment.

LA CAGE AUX FOLLES has won the 2010 Drama Desk Award for Best Revival of a Musical.

Douglas Hodge is this year's recipient of the 2010 Drama Desk Award for Best Actor in a Musical for LA CAGE AUX FOLLES.

The Gallery Players marks the final show of its 43rd main stage season in Black and White and Technicolor with the first NYC revival of the six-time Tony Award winner, City of Angels. Directed by Trey Compton (Mrs. Bob Cratchit's Wild Christmas Binge, The Gallery Players), City of Angels will end its run May 23, 2010.

New Dramatists, Tony Honor recipient and one of the nation's premiere playwright development workshop, honored two-time Tony Award winner Julie Taymor with their 2010 Lifetime Achievement Award at its 61st Annual Spring Luncheon tribute, to be held Tuesday, May 18th at the New York Marriott Marquis. Ms. Taymor's award was presented to her by Academy Award winning actress Helen Mirren, who stars in Taymor's soon-to-be-released film adaptation of Shakespeare's The Tempest. Thomas Schumacher of Disney Theatricals served as the Luncheon Chair. Disney Theatricals and Robert Boyett were the benefactors for New Dramatists 61st Annual Spring Luncheon.
