The first Broadway revival of Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's Tony Award-winning masterpiece A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, directed by Tony Award-winner Trevor Nunn and starring Tony, Grammy & Golden Globe Award winner Bernadette Peters and Tony & Emmy Award winner Elaine Stritch, completes its critically acclaimed run this Sunday, January 9, 2011 at 3:00 PM after 20 previews and 425 regular performances at the Walter Kerr Theatre (219 West 48th Street).

Andrea Burns to Star as Miss Adelaide in GUYS AND DOLLS at Northport

BroadwayWorld.com has learned that Andrew Burns will star as Miss Adelaide in GUYS AND DOLLS at the John W. Engeman Theater at Northport in Northport, NY. The show will be directed by Peter Flynn, with choreography by Marcos Santana. Casting for the other leads is currently under way. The show will run from April 14th to June 19th, 2011.

Jill Haworth, who lit up the Broadway stage as the original Sally Bowles in CABARET, has passed away. The English actress, 65, died Monday in Manhattan of natural causes.

PHANTOM OF THE OPERA Has Best Weekly Gross in 23 Year History

The longest-running show in Broadway history, Andrew Lloyd Webber's THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, directed by Harold Prince, last week shattered the house record at The Majestic Theatre (247 West 44th Street) to have its best weekly gross in the production's nearly 23 year history. For the week ending January 2, 2011, the production grossed $1,390,530.53 for 8 performances. This surpasses the show's previous record of $1,374,874.96 for the week ending January 3, 2010. Set to celebrate an unprecedented 23 Years on Wednesday, January 26, the Cameron Mackintosh/Really Useful Group, Inc. production continues to play at The Majestic with no end in sight.
