A Varied WhatsOnStage Awards Celebrate The West End's Breadth

The 18th Annual WhatsOnStage Awards, held at the Prince of Wales Theatre, was a fast-paced ceremony with great performances and an enthusiastic crowd. The WhatsOnStage awards are unique because they are voted for by theatregoers online. While a few shows took home several awards each, no one show dominated enough to take the excitement away.

Academy Award Winner Alexander Dinelaris to Direct NY Premiere of HALCYON DAYS

Oberon Theatre Ensemble (Brad Fryman, Artistic Director) is proud to announce the New York Premiere of HALCYON DAYS, a play by Steven Dietz (Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure) directed by Academy Award Winner Alexander Dinelaris (Birdman, On Your Feet) in celebration of its 20th Season.HALCYON DAYS will begin performances on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at the Jeffrey and Paula Gural Theatre at the A.R.T./New York Theatres (502 West 53rd Street) for a limited run through March 25, 2018. Opening night is set for Thursday, March 8, 2018. Tickets are available now at oberontheatre.org.

THE SHAPE OF PAIN Comes to Battersea Arts Centre

In a Fringe First award-winning show about trying to communicate something unknowable, writer Chris Thorpe weaves together director Rachel Bagshaw's personal experiences of living with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) with a fictional narrative about a love affair. Using sound, light and video alongside fully integrated captioning and audio description, The Shape of the Pain attempts to explain what Rachel's chronic pain sounds like, looks like and feels like. The production was made in consultation with Rachel's doctor, a consultant in pain at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, as well as other clinical professionals, and debuted at Summerhall at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2017.

Chris Thorpe and Jon Spooner Bring AM I DEAD YET? to Soho Theatre

Inspired by contemporary advances in resuscitation practice that has seen medical professionals bring people back to life up to six hours after their heart stops beating with no neurological damage or long-lasting impact, Unlimited co-founders and Jon Spooner and Chris Thorpe present a funny and moving look at the social, political and ethical implications of these extraordinary medical advancements.

The producers of Dirty Dancing - The Classic Story On Stage announced casting today for the third year of the North American Tour, which coincides with the film's 30th anniversary. Christopher Tierney, having originally performed the role of Johnny Castle during the 2015 Toronto engagement, returned to the show during its most recent North American tour and will once again thrill audiences alongside the fast-rising young star Bronwyn Reed as Frances 'Baby' Houseman. Dirty Dancing - The Classic Story On Stage is coming to the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County beginning November 29 through December 4, 2016.
