OJAI PLAYWRIGHTS CONFERENCE Announces 2010 Season Of New Works 8/3-15

THE OJAI PLAYWRIGHTS CONFERENCE (OPC) is thrilled to announce its 2010 Season - 13th Annual program of playwrights, readings and special performances featuring some of the most talented, established and up-and-coming playwrights writing today.

PlayPenn Holds 6th Annual New Play Development Conference 7/19 - 25

PlayPenn, Philadelphia's professional new play development organization, will hold its sixth annual New Play Development Conference on July 19-July 25, 2010 at the Adrienne Theater (2030 Sansom Street) in Philadelphia. The Conference will feature a week of intensive work on six works-in-progress by James J. Christy (LOVE AND COMMUNICATION); Kara Lee Corthron (ETCHED IN SKIN ON A SUNLIT NIGHT); Dan Dietz (CLEMENTINE IN THE LOWER NINE); Samuel D. Hunter (THE WHALE); Charlotte Miller (RAISING JO); and Nicholas Wardigo (HUM).

Long Wharf Theatre Presents NO CHILD..., 3/17-4/18

Long Wharf Theatre will present No Child..., written and performed by Nilaja Sun, directed by Hal Brooks, March 17 through April 18, 2010 on Stage II. Peformance times are Tuesdays at 7 p.m., Wednesdays at 2 and 7 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays at 8pm, Saturdays at 3p.m. and 8p.m., and Sundays at 2p.m. and 7p.m. Tickets are $30-$65.

AMERICAN IDIOT Garners 12 SF Critics Circle Noms.

This year's Critics Circle Awards, sponsored by Actor's Equity Association, today announced is nominees for excellence in San Francisco Bay area theater. Berkeley Rep's production of American Idiot, which played in the fall of 2009, leads with 12 nominations and will open on Broadway this spring.

Actors Theatre Presents Nilaja Sun's NO CHILD 4/23-5/9

Nilaja Sun spent eight years as a teaching artist in some of New York City's toughest schools. She brings those diverse, often startling experiences to The Herberger Theater's Stage West in 'No Child,' described by The New York Times as a 'lightning-paced, multi-character solo play.' Directed by Hal Brooks, 'No Child,' which runs from April 23 through May 9, offers a glimpse of life in the New York City Public School System and its powerful lessons of struggle, hope and laughter.

The Drilling Theatre Presents 2nd Annual WET INK Festival 2/28-3/6

The Drilling Company Theatre welcomes Reverie Productions for its second annual festival of new play development, WET INK, including a workshop production of URGE FOR GOING by Mona Mansour, directed by Tania Inessa Kirkman. The festival also includes MONDAY NIGHT SEX, a night of steamy one-acts from Reverie's writers lab, as well as staged readings of new plays by Michael Bettencourt, Fengar Gael, Katharine Clark Gray, and Laura Marks.

Opera Boston Presents MADAME WHITE SNAKE 2/26, 2/28, 3/2

Opera Boston presents the company's first commissioned work- the world premiere of Madame White Snake, an opera by composer Zhou Long and librettist Cerise Lim Jacobs, based on a beloved ancient Chinese legend.
