Theater of the Apes Returns With NECROMANCERS OF THE PUBLIC DOMAIN - DENNISON'S CHRISTMAS BOOK (1921)

Each month, Theater of the Apes plucks a long forgotten volume from the shelves of the New York Society Library to resurrect as Necromancers of the Public Domain, a 1-night-only NYC variety show.

The Old Globe today announced the cast and creative team for The Old Globe and University of San Diego Shiley Graduate Theatre Program presentation of William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. Directed by Allegra Libonati, the classic political tragedy will run October 20-28, 2018 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Opening night is Saturday, October 20 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets to Julius Caesar are now on sale and can be purchased online at www.TheOldGlobe.org, by phone at (619) 23-GLOBE, or by visiting the Box Office.

In 1928, Ruth Snyder was executed for the murder of her husband; that same year, Sophie Treadwell wrote Machinal, inspired by Snyder's story. Now, playwright Steph Del Rosso has crafted a relentless, raucous exploration of feminism - part rock concert, part performance art - inspired by Treadwell's expressionist masterpiece. This production, created for the IDEAS Festival 2017 in San Diego and subsequently presented at Ubuntu Theater in the Bay Area, lands at JACK under the direction of rising theater-maker Will Detlefsen.
