TDF/Irene Sharaff Awards Honor Lee & Wolsky, 4/23

Legendary costume designer ALBERT WOLSKY and world renowned scenic designer MING CHO LEE are among the 2010 TDF/Irene Sharaff Awards recipients. The awards will be presented at a ceremony on Friday, April 23 at 6:30pm at the Hudson Theatre (145 West 44th Street). Two-time Academy Award-winner Albert Wolsky will receive the 2010 TDF/Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award for costume design, and Tony Award-winning scenic designer and educator Ming Cho Lee will receive the TDF/Irene Sharaff Robert L.B. Tobin Award for Sustained Excellence in Theatrical Design.

The Cardinal Group Presents HATE MAIL, 3/16-4/2

The Cardinal Group is thrilled to announce its proction of HATE MAIL, a play by BILL CORBETT and KIRA OBOLENSKY. The play will be presented at the 45th Street Theatre, located at 354 W. 45 St. in the heart of New York City's Times Square.

The Fountain Theatre's THE BALLAD OF EMMETT TILL Extends Thru April 25

The Fountain Theatre opens its 20th Anniversary Season with the West Coast premiere of Ifa Bayeza's daring, folk and gospel-infused The Ballad of Emmett Till in celebration of Black History Month. Shirley Jo Finney (Yellowman) directs Bernard K. Addison, Rico E. Anderson, Lorenz Arnell, Adenrele Ojo and Karen Malina White in the five-week run, February 20 through March 20, with low-priced previews beginning February 11.

Tickets for MCC Theater's FAMILY WEEK On Sale Today, 3/3

MCC Theater (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey, Artistic Directors; William Cantler, Associate Artistic Director; Blake West, Executive Director) has announced that tickets will go on-sale today, March 3, 2010, at 12:00 p.m. (noon) for the company's third and final production of their 2009-2010 season: Beth Henley's Family Week, directed by Jonathan Demme. Performances of the four person play begin at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC) on April 9 and continue through May 23, 2010. Opening night is set for Monday, April 26 at 7:00 p.m.

Fred Applegate Joins Cast of LA CAGE AUX FOLLES

Fred Applegate has joined the cast of the critically-acclaimed, Olivier Award-winning Menier Chocolate Factory production of LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, playing the roles of Edouard Dindon, the rigidly conservative head of the Tradition, Family and Morality Party and café owner M. Renaud. LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, starring five-time Emmy Award winner Kelsey Grammer and Olivier Award-winner Douglas Hodge, goes into rehearsal in New York on Monday, March 1.

Asolo Rep Presents MANAGING MAXINE

Theatre of the Expendable Announces Their 2010 Season

Theatre of the Expendable (Mare Cognitum, Cherry Docs) announces their fifth season, which will include Alan M. Berks' Almost Exactly Like Us and Conor McPherson's St. Nicholas. Both productions will be directed by TotE's Artistic Director, Jesse Edward Rosbrow, and will play at The WorkShop Theater.

LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE Plays Fort Worth's Bass Performance Hall 6/8-13

LA BETE w/ Hyde Pierce, Rylance & Lumley to Hit UK & Bway

David Hirson was born in New York City and was educated at Yale and Oxford. He is the author of two plays for the theatre, La Bête (1991) and Wrong Mountain (2000), both of which have been produced on Broadway. He has received numerous honours for his work, including the 1992 Laurence Olivier Award for Best Comedy. The original Broadway production of La Bête was nominated for five Tony awards in 1991. A collected edition of his plays is published by Grove Press. He is currently working on a new version of Die Fledermaus for the Metropolitan Opera.
