From December 4 through December 28, Rubicon Theatre Company swings and sings its way through the holidays with the delightful musical presentation of A Rubicon Family Christmas. Enjoy complementary warm cider and sweet treats as the stellar cast of Broadway performers and a choir of the region's brightest young stars serenade you with fanciful renditions of traditional Christmas classics and favorite holiday songs. SAN DIEGO REPERTORY THEATRE will presents THE SEAFARER, the comic-drama that has become a holiday hit on American stages across the country since its Broadway debut in 2007. Directed by DELICIA TURNER SONNENBERG, this rousing drama recounts the story of four lifelong friends who get together on Christmas Eve and end up making a bet with the devil in disguise. Performances begin in previews on Saturday, November 14, 2009, with an Opening Night performance on Friday, November 20 at 8pm and continue through December 13, 2009 at The Lyceum Theatre.
Following enthusiastic reviews, The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Andrew D. Hamingson) will extend THE BROTHER/SISTER PLAYS, written by Tarell Alvin McCraney and directed by Tina Landau and Robert O'Hara, through Sunday, December 20. LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE, a new musical based on the beloved Laura Ingalls Wilder series of classic American books, arrived on November 10th at the Tulsa PAC in Tulsa, Ok. Melissa Gilbert, who rose to fame as a child playing ‘Laura' in the hugely successful NBC television series 'Little House on the Prairie' during the 1970's, now continues her legacy ‘on the prairie' by taking on the role of Ma.
