Theatre of the Expendable Announces Their 2010 Season

Theatre of the Expendable (Mare Cognitum, Cherry Docs) announces their fifth season, which will include Alan M. Berks' Almost Exactly Like Us and Conor McPherson's St. Nicholas. Both productions will be directed by TotE's Artistic Director, Jesse Edward Rosbrow, and will play at The WorkShop Theater.

Electric Pear Announces SYNESTHESIA 2010 4/21-5/1

In October 2009, a composer/lyricist team was asked to select a fortune cookie. They created a musical theatre piece based on the fortune. Two weeks later, they presented their work to another artist.

Wolsky, Ming, Vietti and Ridge Receive 2010 TDF/Irene Sharaff Awards

Legendary costume designer ALBERT WOLSKY and world renowned scenic designer MING CHO LEE are among the 2010 TDF/Irene Sharaff Awards recipients. The awards will be presented at a ceremony on Friday, April 23 at 6:30pm at the Hudson Theatre (145 West 44th Street). Two-time Academy Award-winner Albert Wolsky will receive the 2010 TDF/Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award for costume design, and Tony Award-winning scenic designer and educator Ming Cho Lee will receive the TDF/Irene Sharaff Robert L.B. Tobin Award for Sustained Excellence in Theatrical Design.

Reprise Records To Release AMERICAN IDIOT Cast Recording, 4/20

Reprise Records will release The Original Broadway Cast Recording of American Idiot on April 20, 2010, the same day the show will open at the St. James Theatre in New York City. The official album features the 24-member cast accompanied by Green Day, marking another incredible collaboration between the band and the musical. Based on Green Day's chart-topping 2004 album American Idiot, the musical and the cast recording include every song from American Idiot, as well as several songs from the band's GRAMMY® Award-winning current album 21st Century Breakdown.

The Theatre School Showcase Presents ELECTRICIDAD, Runs 4/16-25

The Theatre School at DePaul University's Showcase Series of Contemporary Plays and Classics presents ELECTRICIDAD, by Luis Alfaro and directed by Lisa Portes. This searing retelling of a Greek classic opens Friday, April 16, and runs through Sunday, April 25, 2010 at DePaul's historic Merle Reskin Theatre.

The eccentric inhabitants of a makeshift community give her the homecoming she needs before returning to her previous life. An edgy and poignant drama, WELCOME HOME, JENNY SUTTER brings fascinating insight to a timely theme.

Berkeley Rep & Guthrie Take TINY KUSHNER to London, 9/1-9/25

Today, Berkeley Repertory Theatre and the Guthrie Theatre announced that their production of TINY KUSHNER is headed for London. A series of short scripts by legendary playwright Tony Kushner, TINY KUSHNER debuted at the Guthrie in May 2009 and played to acclaim at Berkeley Rep last fall. Staged by Berkeley Rep's artistic director, Tony Taccone, the production will transfer to London's Tricycle Theatre with its original cast and design team intact. The show runs from September 1 to September 25.

InterAct Theatre Company's WHEN WE GO UPON THE SEA Opens 4/14

InterAct Theatre Company continues its long-time relationship with Pulitzer Prize- and Tony-nominated playwright, Lee Blessing, by producing the World Premiere his latest drama, WHEN WE GO UPON THE SEA.
