Music superstar John Legend stopped by NBC's TODAY to talk about his new off-Broadway show TURN ME LOOSE, based on the life of 1960s comic Dick Gregory.

John Legend and Mike Jackson present a new comedic drama about the extraordinary and explosive life of Dick Gregory - starring SCANDAL's Joe Morton - that shines a light on the first Black comedian to expose white audiences to racial comedy. Morton stopped by LIVE WITH KELLY AND MICHAEL earlier this week where he opened up about the production - check out a clip below!

John Legend has signed on to produce a new Off Broadway play about Dick Gregory, the American civil rights activist, social critic, writer, entrepreneur, and comedian.The play is called TURN ME LOOSE, and will even feature an original song by John Legend.

New York Stage and Film and Vassar College, this summer celebrating the 30th year of their Powerhouse Theater collaboration, previously announced that Golden Globe and Emmy Award winner Kyra Sedgwick would lead the cast of Academy Award and Tony Award winner John Patrick Shanley's new play The Danish Widow, which premieres today, July 16, and continues through July 27, 2014 at Hallie Flanagan-Davis Powerhouse Theater at Vassar College. Shanley also directs the cast which also includes multitalented Broadway vets Craig Bierko and Matt McGrath, as well as stage and screen actress Annika Boras.
