Casey Nicholaw, the Tony Award-winning director and choreographer of Disney's ALADDIN, a new musical comedy based on the Academy Award-winning animated film, is featured in the April 2014 issue of Vanity Fair. Renowned photographer Max Abadian shot Nicholaw along with ALADDIN's beautiful ladies Tia Altinay, Daisy Hobbs, Nikki Long, Rhea Patterson, Khori Michelle Petinaud, Ariel Reid, and Marisha Wallace. Producers Daryl Roth and Hal Luftig announced today that Kinky Boots, the Tony Award-winning musical, will celebrate its 100,000th fan 'Like' on Facebook by offering free tickets to lottery entrants for the week of March 18-23, 2014. For this week only, the production will offer 10 pairs of free tickets to each performance, in place of the regular $37 lottery price.

Brandon O'Neill, currently starring in Disney's Aladdin on Broadway as one of the title character's sidekicks Kassim, will perform the national anthem tonight when the New York Knicks take on the Philadelphia 76ers at Madison Square Garden. Tip off is at 7:30pm.

Disney's ALADDIN, which is set to fly onto the Great White Way at the New Amsterdam Theatre on March 20, ends its pre-Broadway engagement at Toronto's Ed Mirvish Theatre today, Jan. 5, 2014. The production officially opened on Nov. 21, 2013.

It's amazing how many Hollywood comedies, cult and otherwise, have been turned into musicals, some successfully, some not so much. Which brings us to ELF, freely adapted from the amusing Will Ferrell vehicle of the same name, but lacking his particular comedic talents. That's not to say there isn't an audience for this show. Packed houses with families in tow seem to be eating up the playful nature of this holiday fare, and it's understandable. I brought my son along and he had a jolly good time as well.

The New Amsterdam Theatre box office opens for Aladdin today at 10:00am. Due to popular demand - and just in time for the holidays, Disney's Aladdin is releasing additional seats for performances between December 17 through January 5. The additional seats will go on sale Monday November 25 at 9AM.

The full cast of Disney's Aladdin, a new musical based on the Academy Award winning animated film, began rehearsals today in New York City. Aladdin will launch at Toronto's Ed Mirvish Theatre (formerly the Canon) November 1, 2013 to January 5, 2014. Opening night there is November 21, 2013. Producers Daryl Roth and Hal Luftig announced today that Kinky Boots, this year's Tony Award-winning Best Musical, has set a new box office record at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre, for the fifth time since the week ending June 16, 2013. Kinky Boots' gross for the week ending July 28, 2013 was $1,612,845.00, the highest for any eight-show week at the Hirschfeld Theatre. Prior to Kinky Boots, the holiday favorite Elf held the Hirschfeld's house record for an 8-performance week, grossing $1,464,912.50 in December 2010.

It's time for a return to Oz as Moonlight Stage Productions' 33rd summer season, the first planned by new Artistic Director Steven Glaudini, continues with the family classic THE WIZARD OF OZ, with performances from tonight, July 24 to August 10. THE WIZARD OF OZ is presented by Moonlight for the first time as an adult production, with adult actors in the leading roles of the Royal Shakespeare Company version. Fashion Designer and social activist, Kenneth Cole, is partnering with the Tony Award winning musical, Kinky Boots, on the launch of a limited-edition capsule shoe collection. Arriving in stores this holiday season, 100% of net profits from the sale of the shoes will be donated to AWEARNESS, The Kenneth Cole Foundation in support of the Human Rights Campaign (HRC). Following consultation with Kinky Boots costume designer, Gregg Barnes, Kenneth Cole has also designed the red high heel pump featured in the opening act of the show.
