The FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training continues its 2016-17 season with contemporary playwright Adam Bock's THE DRUNKEN CITY. A high-energy comedy about life and love, the production is directed by returning guest artist Jesse Jou, whose work was last seen on the FSU/Asolo Conservatory stage in 2014 with How I Learned to Drive.

An icon of the American theater, Arthur Miller has enriched the world stage with numerous classics including Death of a Salesman, All My Sons, The Crucible, and A Streetcar Named Desire. Directed by FSU/Asolo Conservatory first-year acting professor, Andrei Malaev-Babel, A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE previews in the Cook Theatre at the FSU Center for Performing Arts on Today, December 27 at 7:30pm with a special 'Pay What You Can Performance,' officially opens on Wednesday, December 28 at 7:30pm, and runs through Sunday, January 15.

Gulf Coast Community Foundation Awards FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training $7,500 Grant

The FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training today announced that it is the recipient of a $7,500 grant from Gulf Coast Community Foundation. This generous gift supports the Conservatory's Shakespeare in the Gardens: A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, a new initiative presented in collaboration with Marie Selby Botanical Gardens. The final show of the Conservatory's 2016-17 season, the production will present Shakespeare's spirited and whimsical classic on the stunning grounds of Selby Gardens April 11 through 29. The grant is made possible by the Jarrett Family Fund at Gulf Coast.

The FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training continues its 2015-16 season with Shakespeare's iconic MACBETH. An electrifyingly potent tale rife with passion, betrayal, and shadows of the supernatural, MACBETH is esteemed worldwide as a masterpiece of linguistic genius and dramatic brilliance. Since 1849 it has had nearly 50 Broadway runs and over 10 adaptations for film and television in the U.S. and around the world. It has been adapted into numerous books, has had dozens of performances on the radio, and has influenced artistic pieces by Henry Fuseli, Johann Zoffany, and others. Directed by Shakespeare expert Jonathan Epstein, MACBETH previews in the Cook Theatre at the FSU Center for Performing Arts on Tuesday, February 23 at 7:30pm with a special 'Pay What You Can Performance,' officially opens on Wednesday, February 24 at 7:30pm, and runs through Sunday, March 13.

Known for his witty and edgy adaptations, including Venus in Fur and The School for Lies, David Ives' THE LIAR was praised by the Washington Examiner as 'astonishingly fresh, funny, and totally appealing to modern audiences.' Directed by guest artist Justin Lucero, THE LIAR previews in the Cook Theatre at the FSU Center for Performing Arts on Tuesday, December 29 at 7:30pm with a special 'Pay What You Can Performance,' officially opens on Wednesday, December 30 at 7:30pm, and runs through Sunday, January 17.

The FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training kicks off its 2015-16 season with a double bill of Tony and Obie Award-winning playwright Christopher Durang's THE ACTOR'S NIGHTMARE and multi-Tony Award-winner Tom Stoppard's THE REAL INSPECTOR HOUND. Presenting a full night of entertainment from two masters of absurdist comedy, the evening will start with 30-minute one-act THE ACTOR'S NIGHTMARE, include a brief intermission and close with THE REAL INSPECTOR HOUND. Directed by Greg Leaming, the director of the Conservatory, both shows preview in the Cook Theatre at the FSU Center for Performing Arts on Tuesday, November 3 at 7:30pm with a special 'Pay What You Can Performance,' and officially open on Wednesday, November 4 at 7:30pm and run through Sunday, November 22.
