Asian-American Writer debuts World Premiere of BREATHER at HOLLYWOOD FRINGE on June 8, 2017.

The answer to last year's question of whether the digital arts venture STAGE RAW could bring back its awards ceremony celebrating the best of LA's up-to-99-seat theaters, the answer is YES. STAGE RAW is pleased to announce the SECOND ANNUAL STAGE RAW LOS ANGELES THEATER AWARDS, championing the best work of 2015 in L.A.'s still-embattled theaters of up to 99-seats.

Members of the 'Pro99' movement of Actors' Equity Association have issued an open letter to AEA's newly elected president, Kate Shindle, in response to her victory and to her inaugural address as president of the national union for actors and stage managers. The open letter is signed by over 400 Equity members (listed below), including such notable names as Ed Asner, Francis Fisher, Sally Kirkland and Alfred Molina. The 'Pro99' movement formed in late 2014 in opposition to AEA's rollout of a new plan that will effectively force 'intimate theaters' in Los Angeles to pay Equity actors minimum wage, go 'non-union' or even close - despite an overwhelming vote against the plan by 66% of the Los Angeles membership on an advisory referendum. 'Pro99' members around the nation, who take their name from the current AEA '99 Seat Plan' that allows members to volunteer in smaller venues, oppose AEA's new promulgated plan. They are requesting that Equity leadership put a moratorium on the plan until local members' voices can be heard, and that the union work with its members to develop an alternative plan that will more realistically address the needs of the Los Angeles theater community.

After two devastating earthquakes in Nepal, The Spare Change Series is announcing a benefit play reading to raise money for the International Medical Corps. 'The Seduction Community' by Greg Keller will be performed on Thursday, May 21 at 8pm at the Art of Acting Studio, located at 1017 N Orange Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90038.

The Spare Change Series presents 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' Hollywood's new charitybased play reading series, The Spare Change Series, will be presenting their very first production on Monday, June 2, 2014 at 7pm at the Art of Acting Studio, located at 1017 N. Orange Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90038.

The second play in MALIBU PLAYHOUSE'S 2013-2014 season will be the West Coast Premiere of Belfry by Billy Roche, opening Friday, January 31, 2014. The play will be directed by Veronica Brady and stars Michael Hyland, Rebekah Tripp and 2010 American Idol contestant Carson Higgins. Los Angeles' acclaimed IAMA Theatre Company will present the New York premiere of two new plays in repertory: DO LIKE THE KIDS DO & SHINER. Performances begin December 5 at The Studio NYC at Theatre Row.

A Noise Within (ANW), the acclaimed classical repertory theatre company, presents Pulitzer Prize-finalist SARAH RUHL's critically praised play EURYDICE, directed by ANW Producing Artistic Director Geoff Elliott, opening Saturday, March 16 and closing Sunday, May 19, 2013 (previews begin Saturday, March 9). With beautifully spare and poetic imagery, Ruhl retells the classic Greek myth of Orpheus through the eyes of his new wife who plunges into the underworld and finds herself torn between deep devotion to her late father and love for her husband. The run includes a 'Pay What You Can" date on Thursday, March 14.

For the L.A.-based IAMA THEATRE COMPANY's first season under the leadership of Artistic Director Becca Wolff and Managing Director Mira Greene, IAMA brings works by young playwrights Dan LeFranc, Louise Munson and Christian Durso to Los Angeles audiences for the first time. World premieres of Durso's SHINER - named to The Tracking Board's YOUNG AND HUNGRY LIST 2012 - and Munson's DO LIKE THE KIDS DO, mark the maturation of two fresh voices in American theater. LeFranc's 60 MILES TO SILVERLAKE, winner of the 2010 New York Times award for Outstanding Play is an overdue homecoming for this SoCal native and his first L.A. production. With this season, IAMA continues its quest to shift the nerve center of young American theatre to L.A.
