Ambassador Theatre Group Buys Live Nation's UK Theatres

Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG) today confirmed that it had completed the purchase of Live Nation's UK Theatres (excluding their one third share of The Dominion Theatre). The acquisition is the most significant development in ATG's 17 year history.

The evening, hosted by Graham Norton, will feature the talents of Jane Asher, Lorraine Burroughs, Eliot Cowan, Kerry Fox, William Houston, Haydn Gwynne, John Light, Nigel Lindsay, Art Malik, Sharon Maughan, Anna Maxwell-Martin, Kieran O'Brien, Andrew Scott, Ashley Walters and Ruth Wilson.

Whatsonstage.com is reporting that the much hyped-about La Cage Aux Folles tour in the U.K. is now cancelled due to a lack of 'suitable stars.' The tour of the critically hailed Chocolate Menier Factory's production has been scheduled to begin in February of 2010.

Roger Allam has been cast to play drag queen Albin/Zaza in La Cage Aux Folles at West End's Playhouse theater. He will begin playing the role on may 4th. Allam follows in the footsteps of Graham Norton who originally made his debut in La Cage Aux Folles in January. He will remain in the roll until May 2nd.
