Gregor Fisher & More Join Cast of YER GRANNY Scotland Tour

Well known Scottish TV actor Gregor Fisher will be playing Yer Granny, in the National Theatre of Scotland's new gallus comedy of the same name which tours Scotland in 2015. Also announced as joining the cast are Brian Pettifer, (recently seen in BBC TV's The Musketeers), Barbara Rafferty, (Rab C Nesbitt) and Louise McCarthy (London West End's Mamma Mia!) They will join Jonathan Watson, Paul Riley and Maureen Beattie, also known to audiences for their popular stage, screen and comedy performances.

The Citizens Theatre today announces its Autumn 2014 season including: A new production of Shakespeare's Hamlet directed by Dominic Hill and starring Brian Ferguson, Roberta Taylor and Peter Guinness; Headlong's 5-star production of 1984, transferring direct from a West End run for its Scottish premiere; National Theatre of Scotland's gutsy production of In Time O' Strife, Joe Corrie's examination of a Fife mining community; Kill Johnny Glendenning, a brutal new comedy by young Scottish writer DC Jackson; and a new production of A Christmas Carol directed by Dominic Hill.

Reprising their roles from the play's recent, successful UK tour, Jack Ellis stars as Jaggers, Chris Ellison as Magwitch and Paula Wilcox as Miss Havisham. Although it is Dickens' most popular novel and having previously had many incarnations, including as a film, a television drama and even a stage musical, this will be the first time there has ever been a production of GREAT EXPECTATIONS as a full-scale stage play in either the West End or on Broadway. The West End premiere of GREAT EXPECTATIONS will star Jack Ellis as Jaggers, Chris Ellison as Magwitch and Paula Wilcox as Miss Havisham. Beckman Unicorn, the producers of the new stage adaptation of Great Expectations, which has just announced a UK Tour prior to London's West End, have created the first ever Toy Theatre version of the classic novel as part of the international celebrations of the Charles Dickens bicentenary, and a life-size version of it will be on display at West End Live in Trafalgar Square this weekend, 23-24 June.
