Chicago Shakespeare Theater has released rehearsal images from the highly anticipated world premiere of The Notebook, a new musical based on the bestselling novel by Nicholas Sparks that inspired the iconic film.

Feud: Capote's Women will be based on Laurence Leamer’s book, 'Capote’s Women: A True Story of Love, Betrayal, and a Swan Song for an Era.' Hollander will lead as Capote with Lane playing Slim Keith. The series will also feature Naomi Watts as Babe Paley, Chloë Sevigny as C.Z. Guest, and Calista Flockhart as Lee Radziwill.

Weston Theater Company presents the funniest play that will ever make you cry, STEEL MAGNOLIAS, playing August 18 – September 4 at Weston Playhouse.

San Francisco Playhouse announced casting for Indecent by Paula Vogel, the first production in the Playhouse's 20th Anniversary Season. The play will run on the San Francisco Playhouse Mainstage from September 22 through November 5, 2022. Susi Damilano will direct, with music direction by Dmitri Gaskin and choreography by Nicole Helfer.

Alabama Shakespeare Festival presents American Mariachi by José Cruz González, through Aug. 21, 2022, on the Festival Stage.

Experience this charming Broadway hit directed and choreographed by 2-time Tony Award nominee Denis Jones. Musical direction is by Jeff Award winner Ryan T. Nelson.

San Francisco Playhouse has announced casting for Indecent by Paula Vogel, the first production in the Playhouse's 20th Anniversary Season.

Weightless will play a limited engagement from September 17–October 16, 2022 at WP Theater, with support from piece by piece productions. The off-Broadway stage premiere of this soaring and dynamic indie rock musical follows the smash success of Weightless on screen, which was reconceived for film and live-streamed by WP in a limited run in 2021.

Steppenwolf Theatre Company will present the Steppenwolf for Young Adults’ world premiere of 1919, adapted by J. Nicole Brooks from Eve L. Ewing’s collection of luminous and searing poems about the killing of Black teenager Eugene Williams in 1919 off the segregated Chicago lakeshore – and how this tragedy reverberates today.

The Public Theater will begin previews for the Free Shakespeare in the Park production of Public Works’ AS YOU LIKE IT on Wednesday, August 10. Continuing the 60th Anniversary Season at The Delacorte Theater, Public Works’ AS YOU LIKE IT will run through Sunday, September 11, with an official press opening on Tuesday, August 30.

The complete cast and creative team have been announced for the first Broadway revival of August Wilson's The Piano Lesson at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre. Joining the cast are Nadia Daniel and Jurnee Elizabeth Swan. Rounding out the company are Shirine Babb, Charles Browning, Peter Jay Fernandez, Sharina Martin, Warner Miller, Doron JePaul Mitchell and Kim Sullivan.

Shattered Globe Theatre has announced the inaugural playwrights and plays chosen for its The Global Playwright Series, a new play development program specifically aimed at BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, neurodiverse and disabled writers and those who fall within intersections of these identities.

Call Me Elizabeth, a one-woman show about the early life of Elizabeth Taylor, will be presented at Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre on Saturday, August 20 at 7:30pm and Sunday, August 21 at 2:30pm. The show, written by Kayla Boye and directed by Erin Kraft, comes to Evanston following a recent world premiere in the 2022 Hollywood Fringe Festival.
