The Ensemble Theatre celebrates its 36th uninterrupted season as Houston's premier African American performing arts institution with a gala themed: An Evening Full of Bright Lights and Electrifying Entertainment, Saturday, August 25, 2012, 6:30PM at the Hilton Americas-Houston. Ben Vereen will receive The Ensemble Theatre's Lifetime Achievement Award.

After completing their 40th anniversary year, highlighted by an all-star gala in May, New Federal Theatre will announce its 2011-'12 season.

On the heels of record-setting premiere ratings for the network's Sunday night line-up and continued audience growth, SHOWTIME has picked up new seasons of SHAMELESS, HOUSE OF LIES and CALIFORNICATION.

Fans of the new hit SHOWTIME comedy series HOUSE OF LIES can now enjoy a behind the scenes look at what goes on at the Galweather & Stearn offices when the hot, young team of consultants is away from their clients. The team typically spends four days a week on the road, working hard and playing even harder. But, on Fridays, the real fun begins… This is the story of what happens on the fifth day. The 'Fridays at Galweather' webisodes were written by Emmy Award-winning series star Ben Schwartz and series co-producer Wes Nickerson, and directed by Emmy Award-winning series star Glynn Turman ('The Wire').

Viewers nationwide can now sample the series premiere of the new SHOWTIME original comedy series HOUSE OF LIES, starring Academy Award(R) nominee Don Cheadle and Kristen Bell.

New Eyes has been extended and reopened at the Odyssey Theatre in West LA beginning July 10th through November 13th on Sundays at 7pm.

This special event saluting NFT, for 40 years a seminal force in Black Theater, was co-hosted by Randall Pinkston (CBS News) and Lynn Whitfield. Chairmen for the event were Laurence Fishburne, John Morning and Susan Taylor. The Honorary Chair was Dr. Maya Angelou. Actress/Director Phylicia Rashad made her Los Angeles directorial debut with the Ebony Repertory Theatre's production of Lorraine Hansberry's classic play A RAISIN IN THE SUN. Ebony Repertory Theatre (ERT) is proud to return this groundbreaking play to Los Angeles for its first fully-staged production in over twenty years.
