Steppenwolf Theatre Company announces complete casting for two upcoming Chicago premiere productions: Lucas Hnath's The Christians directed by ensemble member K. Todd Freeman (December 1, 2016 - January 29, 2017) in the Downstairs Theatre; and Straight White Men written and directed by Young Jean Lee (February 2, 2016 - March 19, 2017) in the Upstairs Theatre.

Maine State Ballet's  40th Anniversary production of The Nutcracker brings the beauty and joy of the holiday season to Portland's Merrill Auditorium Today, November 25 through Sunday, December 4.

Steppenwolf continues its 41st season with the Chicago premiere of Lucas Hnath's The Christians directed by ensemble member K. Todd Freeman. The cast features ensemble member Tom Irwin as Pastor Paul and ensemble member Robert Breuler as Elder Jay with Shannon Cochran as the Pastor's wife, Elizabeth, Glenn Davis as Joshua and Jacqueline Williams as Congregant. Set designer Walt Spangler transforms The Downstairs Theatre into a church where a live choir performs onstage. Under the musical direction of Jaret Landon, the choir features Faith Howard, Yando Lopez, Jazelle Morriss, Mary-Margaret Roberts, Charlie Strater and Michael Weatherspoon.

The Metropolitan Opera Guild Presents: A German Repertoire Showcase  Sunday, October 23: 4:00-5:30pm at the Bruno Walter Auditorium at the New York Public Library of the Performing Arts,Amsterdam Avenue and 65th Street entrance (111 Amsterdam Ave).

Antigone in Ferguson is a groundbreaking social justice project that premiered in Ferguson, Missouri, at Normandy High School - from which Michael Brown graduated - and at Wellspring Church. The Public Theater has announced a one-week extension for the New York premiere of Head of Passes, part of Oskar Eustis' 10th anniversary season. Written byTarell Alvin McCraney and directed by Tina Landau, Head of Passes officially opened last night, Monday, March 28 and was originally scheduled to close on Sunday, April 17. Maine State Ballet's latest production of Coppelia is marked by a lovely wistfulness and lyricism and bolstered by fine choreography and impressive dancing. While not as glittering as the company's two previous offerings (Cinderella and Le Corsaire), this Coppelia is, nonetheless, a captivating and characterful fairy tale which appeals to a broad audience.

Artistic Director Hal Brooks announced that casting is now complete for the 2015 season of Cape Cod Theatre Project, featuring new works by Lucas Hnath, Laura Jacqmin, Kevin Armento and Ryan King each weekend in July. Two-time Tony Award nominee K. Todd Freeman will be joined by Broadway veterans Glenn Davis, Samantha Soule, and Obie winner Marc Damon Johnson to complete the casting of staged readings in Falmouth, MA.

For its spring production Maine State Ballet presents a stylishly swashbuckling account of Le Corsaire, vividly choreographed by Linda MacArthur Miele (after Petipa) and elegantly designed by Gail Csoboth. The more than thirty-five principals, soloists, and corps de ballet, drawn from area professionals and talented young dancers in the company school form a cohesive troupe, who seem to have grown in polish and precision over the past few years and who are not afraid to tackle the demands of this large scale Romantic ballet.
