The producers of ONCE, the acclaimed new Broadway musical, is announcing today that The Road Company is putting together a US national tour that will launch in the summer of 2013.

The first-ever Sundance London film and music festival came to a close on April 29th, capping off four days of film screenings and music performances hosted by Robert Redford, Sundance Enterprises, Sundance Institute and AEG Europe, with the support of Presenting Partner Sony Entertainment Network.

Nominations for the 57th Annual Drama Desk Awards were announced at a news conference this morning by Drama Desk winners Donna Murphy and Brian d'Arcy James. The 57th Annual Drama Desk Awards will take place on Sunday, June 3, 2012 at 8:00 PM at The Town Hall in Manhattan.

Eddie Vedder will be performing his solo show at the Bass Concert Hall tonight, April 27, 2012. Special Guest Glen Hansard (The Swell Season, The Frames) will again join Vedder on the road.

Ateneo de Manila University alumnus-turned-stage actor, musical director Reb Atadero first appeared in Blue Repertory's 2006 production of 'Hope for Flowers,' a rock musical inspired by Trina Paulus' book of the same title. Apparently, Reb fell in love with the process of putting on a play, and since then has kept the ball rolling. By attending workshops handled by stage veteran Robbie Guevara, he studied musical theater, which he admitted was initially unknown to him. However, right after seeing the video version of Andrew Lloyd Webber's seminal rock musical "Jesus Christ Superstar," he said to himself, "Where have you been all my life, musical theater? Such a progressive art form is a fantastic medium for telling stories!"

Over 20 years in the making, singer songwriter Glen Hansard will release his first ever solo album, Rhythm and Repose, on Anti- Records June 19. Best known for his work with The Frames, The Swell Season and in the feature film Once, for which he won an Academy Award, Rhythm and Repose is Hansard's debut solo album and first album of new material since his 2009 release Strict Joy with The Swell Season. The album will be available for pre-sale at the Anti Store. In recent months Hansard has been seen in the documentary The Swell Season which has toured the film festival circuit this year, contributed two songs to the blockbuster soundtrack, The Hunger Games, and been active in the promotion of Once, The Musical which successfully opened on Broadway on March 18. The cast of ONCE, the critically acclaimed new musical based on the 2007 Academy Award-winning film, will appear on NBC's "Today" on Friday, April 6 in the 10AM hour. ONCE currently plays on Broadway at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre (242 West 45th Street). The production opened to raves on Sunday, March 18, 2012.

Before the audience members began to take their seats for the Off-Broadway premiere of Once this past December, members of the press were already sent an email announcing that the production would be moving to Broadway following its limited run at the New York Theatre Workshop.  Thus, the fact that the critical response to the show supported such a move seemed superfluous.

An Evening of Baseball History and Music, an event celebrating both the new installation Breaking the Color Barrier in Major League Baseball, and the Met's permanent baseball card collection, will be hosted by the Museum's Spectrum Initiative on Friday evening, April 13, at 7:30 p.m. The event, which will be held in the Museum's Grace Rainey Rogers Auditorium, will feature a panel discussion with sportswriters and baseball insiders on topics ranging from the racial integration of the major leagues to the history and evolution of baseball card collecting. The discussion will be followed by a baseball-themed musical performance by indie-rock "supergroup" The Baseball Project. The event is timed to coincide with the beginning of the 2012 baseball season and Jackie Robinson Day in Major League Baseball, which will be celebrated on April 15.

Nominations in 14 categories were announced today by the Off-Broadway League for the 2012 Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway. This year's ceremony will once again benefit The Actors Fund. The Lortel Awards will be handed out on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at NYU Skirball Center beginning at 7:00pm EST.

Masterworks Broadway has released the Original Broadway Cast Recording of ONCE. The new musical debuted at #1 on the Billboard's Cast Album Chart. ONCE opened on Sunday at Broadway's Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre. Produced by Steve Epstein and Martin Lowe, the album is available now.
