Southern Hospitality at its Best at the Next South Carolina Aquarium Good Catch Dinner

Lowcountry food and fine dining is on tap at the next South Carolina Aquarium Good Catch Dinner, taking place at High Cotton, Tuesday, Dec.1, at 6:30 p.m. The four-course dinner embraces the essence of Fall, featuring sustainable seafood, regionally sourced ingredients and wine pairings. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to experience a special wine reception which begins at 5:30 p.m.

AMAZING GRACE's Gabriel Barre to Direct, Star in Resonance Ensemble's CYRANO

Resonance Ensemble (Eric Parness, Artistic Director; Rachel Reiner, Managing Director) celebrates classic plays and the new works they inspire. This year the season, dubbed "The Language of Love," will include the Edmond Rostand classic Cyrano de Bergerac, adapted by Gabriel Barre, Rick Sordelet and Alexander Sovronsky, directed by Gabriel Barre, in rep with the World Premiere of the Cyrano-inspired play Burning by Ginger Lazarus, directed by Eric Parness. The season begins on February 3 and will run through February 28, 2016 at the Theatre at St. Clement's (423 West 46th Street).   Tickets are $18 and can be purchased at ResonanceEnsemble.org.

Goodspeed Sets Starry Group of Writing Teams for 2016 Mercer Writers Colony

In what has become an annual ritual, a total of 36 established and emerging composers, lyricists, and librettists will converge on the Goodspeed campus from mid-January through mid-February 2016 to participate in the Johnny Mercer Foundation Writers Colony at Goodspeed Musicals. The writing teams, representing 19 new musicals, will populate the campus, creating a truly exciting environment for discovery and inspiration. Lois Smith Leads MARJORIE PRIME, Beginning Tonight at Playwrights Horizons

Playwrights Horizons presents the New York premiere of 2015 Pulitzer Prize finalist Marjorie Prime, a new play by Jordan Harrison (Maple and Vine, Doris to Darlene at PH; Amazons and Their Men; Kid-Simple; 'Orange is the New Black'). Commissioned by Playwrights Horizons and directed by Obie Award winner Anne Kauffman (Detroit, Maple and Vine, Your Mother's Copy of the Kama Sutra at PH; Belleville; This Wide Night; The Thugs), the play is the third production of the theater company's 2015/2016 Season. The first preview is tonight, November 20 at 8PM at Playwrights Horizons' Mainstage Theater (416 West 42nd Street). The production has an Opening Night set for Monday, December 14 and will play a limited engagement through Sunday, January 3.

Feinstein's/54 Below to Offer Thanksgiving Prix Fixe Menu Next Week

Feinstein's/54 Below, Broadway's Supper Club, is set to celebrate Thanksgiving in style with a special prix fixe menu from Executive Chef Lynn Bound. On Thursday, November 26, indulge in a Thanksgiving dinner that combines time-honored holiday tradition with the exceptional creativity and quality that exemplifies Chef Bound's food program at Feinstein's/54 Below. The $85 prix fixe includes 3 courses and traditional family-style Thanksgiving sides. Beverages from the Feinstein's/54 Below fall cocktail menu are also available for purchase. BWW Review: Steve Ross and His Orchestra Bring Stylish RHYTHM AND ROMANCE to Birdland and Steal Hearts

Attending a Steve Ross show is often akin to time travel. The audience is transported back to eras when urbanity and dash were watchwords, when interpretation meant being as true to the period as the meaning of lyrics. The classy Mr. Ross, known primarily for iconoclastic solo performance, appeared at Birdland Monday night with a zealous 11-piece band helmed by long time confederate Brian Cassier. The joint was jumpin'.
