Geoffrey Tyler is a very busy man these days. Fresh off a star-turn in the critically acclaimed Birdland/Talk is Free production of Assassins, Geoffrey is putting on his one man show 'Making Other Plans' in Toronto this Saturday night. A unique type of evening, the show involves music and stories, as well as French food and wine. Mark Selby will be playing the keys, and Geoffrey will be singing songs both new and familiar.

Rubicon Theatre Company continues its 2010-2011 Season with MASTER HAROLD...AND THE BOYS, a powerful and compelling drama by Athol Fugard which begins previews February 9 at Rubicon's intimate 195-seat home in Ventura's Downtown Cultural District. Set in the 1950s, MASTER HAROLD is the story of an adolescent white South African torn between his relationship with the black waiters who have befriended and cared for him, and the principles instilled in him by his father, an injured war veteran who is alternately absent and abusive. Recipient of the New York Drama Desk Award and London's Evening Standard for Best Play, this gripping drama has much to say about how racism can be passed from one generation to the next. Directed by Rubicon Associate Producer BRIAN McDONALD, the production features DANIEL STEWART, ANTHONY (TONY) HANEY and CHRIS MADDOX.

Hartt Students Featured in Goodspeed Fest Of New Artists

This January, hundreds of theatre enthusiasts from across the region will convene at the Goodspeed Opera House to experience the newest works in musical theatre. The Goodspeed campus will come alive as emerging writers, established creative teams, Goodspeed artistic staff, and senior music theatre students from The Hartt School of the University of Hartford collaborate in a weekend-long festival of new musicals.

Submit your musical to the Academy for New Musical Theatre's fourth annual SEARCH FOR NEW MUSICALS by December 15, 2010. There are some $30,000 in prizes, in the form of feedback, table readings, workshops and concert readings. All submissions receive personalized feedback.
