After a two year absence the Atlantic City Ballet returns to The Strand Theater in Lakewood, NJ with their sexy performance of Bizet's Carmen. The Strand Theater has hosted the ballet in the past with performances of Dracula and Nutcracker and the original premier of Carmen. "We were disappointed that these last two years, we could not include The Strand in our touring dates." says Ms. Papa, "but we are so excited to be back and to have the opportunity to build an audience in this area of the state." The ballet is planning to perform at the Strand at least three times during their season. In September they will bring Ballet Goes Broadway, December will bring back The Nutcracker and in March they will perform Visions. "We are always excited to present at The Strand. It's such a majestic theater and it really showcases the company. All of our ballets look beautiful on that stage." remarked Papa.

?The New Jersey State Repertory Opera (SRO) will present its spring benefit concert, “Princesses and Heroes In Opera,” on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at the Van Vleck House and Gardens in Montclair, NJ from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm.

The New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera will transport the audience to Seville, Spain in its new production of Carmen. Last performed by the company in 2008, Verismo Opera presents Georges Bizet's immortal opera on Sunday, April 26, 3:00 p.m., at the Bergen Performing Arts Center (bergenPAC), 30 North Van Brunt Street, in Englewood, New Jersey.

The 2015-2016 season includes a new-to-Washington staging of Bizet's Carmen, the world premiere of a newly revised version of Appomattox by composer Philip Glass and librettist Christopher Hampton, a revival of WNO's charming holiday production of Hansel and Gretel, the company premiere of Kurt Weill's Lost in the Stars in a gripping production from Cape Town Opera, and WNO's first complete staging of Wagner's extraordinary four-part Ring Cycle, with a world-class cast under the direction of Francesca Zambello and featuring the WNO Orchestra conducted by WNO Music Director Philippe Auguin. Barrese makes his company debut conducting this French masterpiece not even two weeks after the close of FGO's well-received production of Mozart's comic opera Cosi fan tutte. The Pearl Fishers will open today, February 28, at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts.

The house opera company of the Bergen Performing Arts Center (bergenPAC) presents Georges Bizet's scintillating Carmen on Sunday, April 26, 2015 and Gaetano Donizetti's tragic melodrama Lucia di Lammermoor on Sunday, October 18, 2015. Bookings for the spectacular ballet, CARMEN, are now open at Computicket. Choreographed by South Africa's foremost ballet choreographer, Veronica Paeper, CARMEN will be performed by star dancers of the Cape Town City Ballet at Artscape in Cape Town from 25 to 31 March.

Toronto – The world premiere of a new Canadian work was one of the many operatic highlights revealed today at the public launch of the Canadian Opera Company's 2015/2016season at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts. The COC's 65th season is once again comprised entirely of company productions, four of which are new to Toronto audiences, and features the COC's first mainstage world premiere since 1999, COC premieres of opera rarities and the revival of classic masterpieces.

Florida Grand Opera (FGO) General Director and CEO Susan T. Danis announced today FGO must reach a fundraising goal of $400,000 from Broward patrons and donors by January 31, 2015, to ensure that the company will be able to bring its 2015-16 mainstage productions to Fort Lauderdale.
