Audiences nationwide will have the chance to explore a masterwork of classical music as The Discovery Orchestra brings its latest special celebrating the genre to public television.

Students that make up The Elisabeth Morrow School's orchestra and superchamber will perform live at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21 in the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC's) Prudential Hall Lobby as a prelude to the concert featuring renowned conductor and violinist Joshua Bell and the Academy of St Martin in the Fields.

The Discovery Orchestra (the Orchestra) ushered in its 33rd season this past Sunday with Discover The Firebird, an interactive concert taped at the Delbarton School in Morristown, New Jersey, for future national broadcast. Over 500 audience members from communities in the Tri-State area were treated to a thrilling performance of movements from Igor Stravinsky's Firebird Suite and simultaneously guided through listening exercises to sharpen their emotional connections to this work. Discover The Firebird is the Orchestra's fifth public television program, marking a historic moment for the local New Jersey nonprofit. The concert will be nationally distributed by American Public Television beginning in the spring of 2020.

The Discovery Orchestra (the Orchestra) will kick off its 33rd season with Discover The Firebird, an interactive concert taped for national broadcast, on Sunday, September 22, 2019, from 2:45 PM to 4:30 PM ET at the Delbarton School in Morristown, New Jersey. Over 500 audience members will have a chance to be part of the taping for national broadcast while they are simultaneously led through three movements of Igor Stravinsky's Firebird Suite. Discover The Firebird will be nationally distributed by American Public Television beginning in the spring of 2020 and will mark the Orchestra's fifth public television program.

Approximately 230 leading community figures, donors and supporters gathered at The Concert Hall at Drew University on Sunday, April 29, for The Discovery Orchestra's (the Orchestra's) annual concert and gala celebration entitled Discover the Joy of Corelli. The celebration honored Far Hills residents Ellen and David Williams with the annual Discovery Award, which recognizes an individual or couple for their longtime support of the Orchestra's music education mission and work.

New Jersey Symphony Orchestra Music Director Xian Zhang conducts this iconic, centuries-old oratorio, known as Handel's masterpiece. Messiah has become a Christmas tradition, even though in 1742 it was introduced as a work commemorating Easter. A soaring showpiece for chorus, soloists and orchestra, considered one of the most majestic compositions in Western music, Messiah is a soul-stirring way to celebrate Advent. This special performance also features soprano Erin Wall, mezzo-soprano Nancy Maultsby, tenor Miles Mykkanen, and bass-baritone Michael Sumuel.

Andr Watts is one of classical music's most enduring superstars and set to perform with Grammy-winning Orpheus Chamber Orchestra at New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) on Sunday, October 22nd at 3pm. See Watts brings his elegant luster to Mozart's first great Piano Concerto, No. 9, the 'Jeunehomme and play Beethoven's path-breaking First Symphony. This performance also features the world premiere of Vijay Iyer's Asunder, commissioned by Orpheus. Iyer is acclaimed for his diverse discography of jazz albums and a list of upcoming commissions that places him in rare company among contemporary composers.
