Sunny Afternoon, the critically acclaimed new musical, which tells the story of the early life of Ray Davies and the rise to stardom of The Kinks, has released seven preview tracks from the official cast recording album, released later this month. All 29 tracks on the album are performed entirely by members of the company, with John Dagleish as Ray Davies, George Maguire as Dave Davies, Ned Derrington as Pete Quaife and Adam Sopp as Mick Avory.

Twenty-seven former and current Billy Elliots will unite on stage in a specially choreographed mash-up finale onSunday 28 September when Billy Elliot the Musical is broadcast live from the Victoria Palace Theatre to cinemas across the UK and around the world. All three original Billy Elliots - James Lomas, George Maguire and Liam Mower - will take part in the spectacular finale. In addition, as previously announced, Liam Mower will play the role of Older Billy at this performance.
On Sunday 28 September, Liam Mower will join the cast of Billy Elliot the Musical for a special performance to be broadcast live from the Victoria Palace Theatre to cinemas across the UK and around the world. Mower, who will play the role of Older Billy, originated the role of Billy Elliot in 2005 along with George Maguire and James Lomas, and was the first boy ever to play the role on stage.
According to the Daily Mail, the original Billy Elliot -- Liam Mower -- is returning to the musical for one night only as part of its BILLY ELLIOT LIVE special performance on September 28. The event will be broadcast in UK cinemas, live from the Victoria Palace Theatre. Mower, now 22, will play the grown-up Billy in the musical's fantasy sequence featuring young Billy dancing with his older self.
I was fortunate enough to see 20th Century Boy on its debut outing at the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry back in September 2012 and it was probably the best show I had seen that year. The production is the perfect balance between a jukebox musical and a biography detailing Marc Bolan's rise to fame until the tragic car accident that killed him in 1977. Peter Rowe's writing is superb and brings in the added element of Marc's son Rolan trying to find out about his father who died when he was only two.
Following a sold-out run at Hampstead Theatre, this world premiere production, with music and lyrics by Ray Davies, new book by Joe Penhall, direction by Edward Hall, design by Miriam Buether and choreography by Adam Cooper, will begin previews on 4 October 2014. The Daily Mail reports that Hampstead Theatre's SUNNY AFTERNOON might soon be transferring to the West End -- or even the big screen. Actor/director Dexter Fletcher allegedly appeared at the show with film producers Andrew Macdonald and Allon Reich to scout the production. Featuring some of The Kinks' best loved songs, including You Really Got Me, Waterloo Sunset and Lola, and with choreographer Adam Cooper joining the creative team, Sunny Afternoon marks the 50th Anniversary year of the band's debut release.
Jonathan Reid Gealt performed in concert on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th September at St. James for TransAtlantic. Craig Adams and Steven Luke Walker joined Gealt in concert for a TransAtlantic mix of new musical theatre. Matthew Barrow, Craig Colton, Danielle Hope, Kelly Anne Gower and Jennifer Tierney were also performing, plus two of the three 'Quiet' competition winners' Daniel Gregory (PPA 3rd year) and Tom Cromwell (from Australia). The band was led by Aaron Williams.
Due to popular demand, Jonathan Reid Gealt will be in concert on both tonight, Saturday 14th September, in addition to Sunday 15th September at St. James for TransAtlantic. The evening of the 14th will include a teaser of what's to come on Sunday night to whet your appetite for Jonathan's 'Here For You' UK album celebration.
