Joel Grey, Mary Tyler Moore, et al. to Honor Bernadette Peters at New Dramatists Gala

NEW DRAMATISTS, Tony Honor recipient and the nation's premiere playwright development workshop, today announced that two-time Tony Award winner Bernadette Peters will be honored with their 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award at its 63rd Annual Spring Luncheon tribute, to be held Thursday, May 24th at the New York Marriott Marquis. Among those on the program offering tributes will be Emmy Award-winner Mary Tyler Moore, Peters' Tony Award-winning A Little Night Music co-star Elaine Stritch, and New Dramatists Artistic Director Todd London. Tony and Academy Award-winner Joel Grey and Peters' Tony-nominated Gypsy co-star John Dossett will offer musical tributes.

Bernadette Peters Plays the Jorgensen Stage, 4/13-14

Bernadette Peters is set to perform at Jorgensen's Cabaret on Friday and Saturday, April 13 and 14, at 8 p.m. Fresh from wowing audiences in the Broadway revival of "Follies" and coming to Storrs on her first East Coast stop of her national tour, Peters will perform selections from a rich stock of musicals and popular tunes by Stephen Sondheim, Rodgers & Hammerstein and others.

Bernadette Peters, who just finished her well-received run as Desiree in the revival of A Little Night Music on January 9th, won't be taking too much downtime between projects. Although she will be appearing in the Kennedy Center's Follies beginning in May, the much honored actress is offering concerts in seven locations across the country through the end of March.

Bernadette Peters will co-host 'Broadway Backstage: Fall Preview' alongside Michelle Charlesworth. The program will air at 7:30pm in the New York City area on October 23. Brief Encounter, Elling, Lombardi, Mrs. Warren's Profession, The Pitmen Painters, The Scottsboro Boys and Time Stands Still, and more will be featured on the show.

RIALTO CHATTER FOLLIES Update: Cattrall, Dossett Out; Paige & Lavin In?

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts announced back in August that Bernadette Peters will star as Sally Durant Plummer in the Kennedy Center production of Follies in the Eisenhower Theater May 7 to June 5, 2011. Additionally, BroadwayWorld.com had heard that starring alongside Peters could be Sex and the City star and Golden Globe winner Kim Cattrall as Phyllis, Danny Burstein as Buddy and John Dossett as Ben, all of whom were cast and were then in contract negotiations. We've now heard from reliable sources that neither Cattrall or Dossett were able to work out their contract deals for the production and that both sides have moved in. Now said to be in talks? First lady of the British Musical Theatre Elaine Paige and Linda Lavin, who was most recently a 2010 Tony nominee for Collected Stories. More information to come soon...
