Casting is announced today for Fireworks, a new play by Palestinian playwright and poet Dalia Tala. Directed by the Royal Court's International Associate Richard Twyman and set in Palestine, the play is inspired by recent events in Gaza and gives new insight to the impact of war on childhood. The Royal Court has been working in Palestine since 1998, the first workshop was held at the Paradise hotel in Bethlehem and led by playwright Stephen Jeffreys, director Phyllida Lloyd and Royal Court International Director Elyse Dodgson. Fireworks has been developed with The Royal Court International Department over the last two years, and marks the first full production by an emerging Palestinian playwright which has been developed and staged by the company.

Casting is announced today for Liberian Girl a new play by first time writer Diana Nneka Atuona. Directed by Matthew Dunster, the Alfred Fagon award-winning play follows one teenage girl's story of survival.
Casting is now complete: best known as series regular 'Kris Fisher' in Channel 4's Hollyoaks most recently seen on screen in BBC2's The Fall, and on Netflix' epic Titanic: Blood and Steel, Gerard McCarthy will star as 'Tony'. Other theatrical credits include The Merry Wives of Windsor at the Globe, and Blue/Orange for ATG. Vanessa Babirye, recently seen on screen in BBC 2's Our Girl, and at the National Theatre in Romeo and Juliet will star as 'Leah'. Also joining the company will be Rob Ellis and Natalie Law.
Pat Barker's Booker-nominated novel, REGENERATION, has been adapted for the stage by Olivier Award-winning playwright Nicholas Wright (His Dark Materials, Vincent in Brixton), it opened at Royal & Derngate, Northampton on 29 August 2014 prior to a national tour. The production plays Wolverhampton Grand Theatre from 4 - 8 November 2014.
