Lainie Kazan Lands Guest Stint in 'Desperate Housewives' this Season

TVGuide reports that Lainie Kazan will guest star in a multi-episode arc on ABC's primetime soap opera 'Desperate Housewives'.
Kazan will be Teri Hatcher's character Susan's new entrepreneur neighbor. The seventh season of 'Desperate Housewives' also added Brian Austin Green and Vanessa Williams.

Last night, August 16, The Broadway Boys took the stage at Birdland. Featuring regulars Jesse Nager (Mary Poppins), Michael James Scott (Jersey Boys), Mykal Kilgore (Hair), Danny Calvert (Altar Boyz), Gabe Violett (Spring Awakening), and Zak Resnick (Dogfight), the concert also showcased special guest Natalie Weiss from Wicked.

It may not quite feel like Christmas yet, but legendary American Icons, the Radio City Rockettes ‘kick'-started the 2010 Radio City Christmas Spectacular season with a coast-to-coast kick-off on August 12th with a live performance in front of Radio City Music Hall, joined by special guests Santa Claus and Race Taylor of WPLJ, followed by inviting patrons to join in their legendary kick-line. BroadwayWorld was on hand to celebrate and brings you photo coverage below. The Radio City Christmas Spectacular, presented by Capital One Bank, will run from November 5 - December 30, 2010.

Kelli O'Hara, who won critical acclaim for her performance as Nellie Forbush in Lincoln Center Theater's production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's SOUTH PACIFIC will return to the production on Tuesday, August 10 and perform the role through Sunday, August 22 when the musical plays the final performance of its record-breaking run at the Vivian Beaumont Theater. On Wednesday, August 18, the Tony Award winning production, directed by Bartlett Sher, will be broadcast nationally at 8pm on PBS' 'Live From Lincoln Center.'

Last night, August 2, audiences at Joe's Pub took a musical road trip across the country in Free to Dream, an evening devoted to the songs of Katsaros and Schermerhorn. Featuring an all-star Broadway cast including Rent star Anthony Rapp and Avenue Q's John Tartaglia and Stephanie D'Abruzzo, Free to Dream showcased the people and places that make up the fabric of America; from country, rock and pop, to swing and the blues. Proceeds from Free to Dream benefit The New York Pops' education programs, which bring music to thousands of public schoolchildren across the five boroughs of New York City. The evening was hosted by The New York Pops Music Director Steven Reineke, and featured the Camp Broadway Kids, as well as the voice of Willard Scott as ‘DJ Sam.'
