Stages Repertory Theatre to Present PANTO SNOW QUEEN: UNFROZEN This Winter

Stages continues its holiday tradition with the world premiere of PANTO SNOW QUEEN: UNFROZEN. This is the eighth British pantomime that Stages has produced, and the seventh to receive its world premiere at Stages during the holiday season. The production runs December 3, 2015 - January 3, 2016.

On Friday, November 13th, the Theater People Podcast is releasing a bonus 'catching up' episode with previous guest, Tony Award-winner Daisy Eagan. Eagan became the youngest female Tony Award winner, when she won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for originating the role of Mary Lennox in the 1991 Broadway production of THE SECRET GARDEN. She was also seen on Broadway in LES MISERABLES and JAMES JOYCE'S THE DEAD.

The PATH Fund's 22nd annual ROCKERS ON BROADWAY 80's REWIND was just held last night, honoring 80's Pop Princess, Debbie Gibson with the Rockers Lifetime Achievement Award and May Pang with the Rockers Ambassador of Rock Award. ROCKERS ON BROADWAY is a fun and unique charity concert that featured Broadway's best rockers performing the biggest hits in 80's Rock n' Roll. Proceeds from the evening benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BCEFA) and non-profit performing arts education programs.

Just last night, Feinstein's/54 Below presented the debut of Jennifer Diamond, currently co-starring in the smash hit musical RUTHLESS!. Jennifer's new show IT'S MY FIRST TIME (PLEASE BE GENTLE) was directed by Broadway veteran Richard Jay-Alexander. The two first worked together on LES MISERABLES and a number of benefits and Jay-Alexander found her uniquely talented and versatile enough to put a special spin on a debut act for her, recounting her arrival in the business, her story as an up-and-coming actress and all the good (and bad) that goes with it.
Rehearsals Commence for Australian Premiere VIOLET

This week rehearsals have commenced for the premiere of the 2014 Broadway revival of VIOLET in Australia. Playing at the Hayes Theatre Co from 27 November, this will be the first time the production has been seen in Australia.

In 1924, Noel Coward was so captivated by the outlandish lifestyle and eccentric personality of Laurette Taylor that he was inspired to write his play HAY FEVER in just three days. The play focuses on the antics of four members of the Bliss family in their country home during a weekend with guests. The Playhouse production of HAY FEVER opens tonight, November 7 and runs through December 5, 2015.

Abingdon Theatre Company just celebrated its 2015-2016 Season with ABINGDON: REFLECTIONS OF STARLIGHT, last night, October 26 at Espace (635 West 42nd Street in Manhattan). Richard Jay-Alexander, best known for directing Barbra Streisand and other artists in concert, directed the event, honoring Tony Award-winning costume designer Jane Greenwood, who designed Abingdon's acclaimed production of Hellman v. McCarthy; Abingdon Theatre Company's Vice Chair and former Managing Director, Heather Henderson; and one of New York's most prominent lawyers in entertainment, Mark Sendroff.
Theatre Writer Frank Rizzo Amoungst Group to Depart Hartford Courant

According to The Laurel, a major staffing shake-up is underway at the Hartford Courant. Dean Pagani writes that four writers have opted for a buyout offer that was intended to reduce costs. Departing reporters include Java columnist MaryEllen Fillo, columnist Jim Shea, and most notably for theatre fans, arts writer Frank Rizzo.
