Convinced the cure for his father's mental illness lies in the separation of Man's evil nature from his good, Dr. Henry Jekyll unwittingly unleashes his own dark side, wreaking havoc in the streets of late 19th century London as the savage, maniacal Edward Hyde.'

Following its limited engagement of Into the Woods and its co-production of The Rocky Horror Show in 2011, Stocking Productions has announced that it will bring RENT to Frederick for the first time for a special Memorial Day weekend presentation at The Way Off Broadway Theatre.

This year, Way Off Broadway's audiences have been taken to New York City with the area premiere of The Drowsy Chaperone, followed by a visit to the islands with Rodgers & Hammerstein's South Pacific, then a summer visit to 60's Baltimore with the mega-musical Hairspray. As we welcome in a new year of great theatre in the nation's capital, I thought it would be fun to do one of those “Best of 2010' lists as well as preview what's opening in January on DC area stages.
