Amore Opera closes the 2015-2016 season with Giuseppe Verdi's Rigoletto. This tale of innocence lost and vengeance gone tragically awry will be presented in full production with full orchestra conducted by Douglas Martin, with stage direction by Amore Opera's Artistic Director Nathan Hull. 

Heartbeat Opera is a new company intent upon re-imagining opera in intimate spaces for a new generation. Employing a minimalism that allows the emotional integrity of the music to shine through, the company's work focuses on the body of the singer and the visceral power of the music. Co-Artistic Directors Louisa Proske and Ethan Heard, who trained together in the Directing program at the Yale School of Drama, are committed to nurturing the actor in every singer they work with. The company creates productions of classics and new pieces that are daring and visceral—productions that manifest the emotional grandeur and theatrical power of opera with minimal means. Heartbeat's one-act festival presentation of György Kurtág's Kafka-Fragments, directed by Heard, and the New York premiere of Jacques Offenbach's Daphnis & Chloé, in a new English translation directed by Proske, marks this young company's debut. dell'Arte Opera Ensemble, which offers role debut and training opportunities to emerging opera artists, celebrates its eleventh season of high-quality, affordable NYC performances with a Shakespearean summer. The company's Shakespeare Repertoire Project (SRP) includes fully-staged productions of Salieri's 'Falstaff' and Purcell's 'The Fairy Queen,' along with a semi-staged production of Verdi's 'Macbeth,' and an evening of Shakespearean 'Songs and Sonnets.' On December 17, 2008 the Dicapo Opera Theatre presented a holiday concert called 'Yuletide Classics', a two hour show which included holiday songs, carols and opera classics. The cast featured the Dicapo Opera Children's Chorus and The Dicapo Opera Theatre's Resident Artists. The sold out show was performed in The Dicapo Opera Theatre's 220 seat theater in New York City under the direction of Diane Martindale, and General Director Michael Capasso.
