The producers of the Tony Award winning PIPPIN just announced that Emmy and Golden Globe Award nominee Annie Potts ("Designing Women," God of Carnage) will assume the role of "Berthe" in the production beginning Tuesday, January 21, 2014. Four-time Tony Award nominee Tovah Feldshuh will play her final performance in the role on Sunday, January 19th. PIPPIN is now playing at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street).

The producers of the Tony Award winning PIPPIN have announced that the show has officially recouped its $8.5 million capitalization costs as of the Sunday, December 1, 2013 performance. The show also broke the Music Box Theatre house record last week for the highest grossing single performance on the evening of Friday, November 29th with $151,219. The record was then broken again on the evening of Saturday, November 30th with $151,977 gross sales. Roger O. Hirson and Stephen Schwartz's Tony Award winning musical comedy PIPPIN is directed by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus and features choreography by Tony Award nominee Chet Walker in the style of Bob Fosse and circus creation by Gypsy Snider of the Montreal-based circus company Les 7 doigts de la main (also known as 7 Fingers). Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) presents Shrek The Musical, the Theater's annual summer family musical, directed and choreographed by Rachel Rockwell with music direction by Michael Mahler, July 13-September 1, 2013 in CST's Courtyard Theater. Based on the Academy Award-winning DreamWorks film and the book by William Steig, CST's 75-minute production of Shrek The Musical will take audiences on an unconventional fairy-tale adventure with everyone's favorite ogre. The Tony Award winning Best Revival of a Musical PIPPIN will help kick off "Back to School" shopping at Bloomingdale's (1000 3rd Ave, NYC) with a special event on Thursday, August 8th from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. In addition to unveiling four PIPPIN-themed window displays on 3rdAvenue featuring costumes from the show, cast members will be on hand at 5:30 p.m. to perform a few song selections. The event will also boast fun circus-themed activities for the whole family including face painting, juggling and various contests. Bloomingdale's shoppers who spend $350 or more in women's fashion will receive a voucher, good for two tickets, to see PIPPIN on Broadway, while supplies last.
