The University of the Arts' Ira Brind School of Theater Arts announces the lineup for its fifth annual Polyphone Festival, a 'festival of the emerging musical.' The five-day event will take place in the Arts Bank and Wilma Theaters on South Broad Street in Philadelphia February 26-March 2, 2019. The four musicals comprising the festival will take audiences on a journey through a haunted burial ground for forgotten souls, a radioactive amusement park full of Marie Curies, an afro-futuristic groove-centered alternate reality, and the final anxious moments of life on earth. All of the works in this year's Polyphone focus on the intersection of alternative futures and reimagined histories. The works all ask questions about co-existence, global anxiety and crafting hope in troubled times.

Jeffrey Horowitz announces that TFANA will extend its current four-play season to five plays and present Soho Rep.'s production of Jackie Sibblies Drury's Fairview, staged by Sarah Benson. Fairview will play June 2-30, 2019, on the Samuel H. Scripps Mainstage at Polonsky Shakespeare Center, TFANA's state-of-the-art home in the Brooklyn Cultural District. The return engagement marks the first opportunity for New York audiences to experience this bold, innovative work since its sold-out, thrice-extended world premiere at Soho Rep. Final casting for Berkeley Repertory Theatre's upcoming production of Fairview was announced today. Written by Jackie Sibblies Drury, directed bySarah Benson, with choreography by Raja Feather Kelly, the world premiere production comes straight to Berkeley Rep from a critically acclaimed New York run. Previews begin on Thursday, October 4 with regular run of the show opening on Thursday, October 11 and continuing through Sunday, November 4.
