The Shakespeare Theatre Company continues celebrating its 25th Anniversary Season with the second installment of the Bard's Broadway series with the Tony Award winning musical Two Gentlemen of Verona (a rock opera) performing January 27-29, 2012 at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW). Galt MacDermot, John Guare and Mel Shapiro come together to create the music, lyrics and book that add a spicy, funky twist to Shakespeare's work of the same name.
HAIR won the 2009 Tony Award for Best Musical Revival as well as the Drama Desk, Drama League, and Outer Critics Circle award for Outstanding Revival of a Musical. HAIR was also nominated for an additional seven Tony Awards including Best Direction, Best Choreography, Best Costume Design, Best Lighting Design and Best Sound Design. The cast recording was also nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album.

As part of the 25th Anniversary, Shakespeare Theatre Company celebrates Shakespeare through song and verse. A musical interpretation of the Bard's work will be performed in concert-style staging as additions to the regular season. Legendary HAIR Composer Galt MacDermot will be performing at Carnegie Hall's Weill Hall in 'An Evening of Music with Galt MacDermot' tonight from 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm. MacDermot will be appearing with the New Pulse Band and Broadway Singers.
