Intiman Theatre's 'Black Nativity: A Gospel Song' Adds 12/28 Performance

Intiman Theatre announces that, due to audience demand for tickets to see its gospel songfest Black Nativity, a performance has been added to the schedule and the production will now close on Sunday, December 28 at 2 pm.

Intiman Theatre announces the addition of Shakespeare's Othello, directed by Artistic Director Bartlett Sher, to its 2009 schedule. This will be Sher's first production of Shakespeare's tragedy and his fourth production of a Shakespeare play at Intiman, where he has been Artistic Director since 2000.

4th Wall Theatre, a non union professional theatre in Bloomfield, NJ is presenting the New Jersey premier of 'Dessa Rose' which had its New York premier in 2005 at Lincoln Center's Mitzi E. Newhouse Theatre. The show will be directed by 4th Wall Artistic Director, Gregory G. Allen. Intiman Theatre announces the schedule of free public programs for its upcoming American Cycle production of Robert Penn Warren's All the King's Men, which will run September 26-November 8 at the Intiman Playhouse, 201 Mercer Street at Seattle Center. The play, which will be performed by an ensemble of 18 actors, is adapted by Adrian Hall and directed by Pam MacKinnon.

Intiman Theatre, under the leadership of Artistic Director Bartlett Sher and Interim Managing Director Kevin Maifeld, concludes it inaugural American Cycle series with Adrian Hall's adaptation of one of the greatest political novels ever written, Robert Penn Warren's All the King's Men. The production is directed by Pam MacKinnon and stars John Procaccino (leading an ensemble of 18 actors) as Willie Stark. Performances will begin at the Intiman Playhouse, 201 Mercer Street at Seattle Center, on Friday, September 26 and continue through Saturday, November 8. The opening night performance is Friday, October 3 at 8 pm.

ACT Announces Four-Part Comedy Series

The innovative Central Heating Lab initiative, which launched at the beginning of ACT's 2008 season, is thrilled to announce a four-part comedy series to take place on consecutive Sunday evenings in the month of May in the Bullitt Cabaret space. The Comedy Cornucopia series falls under the 'Long Term Project' category of The Central Heating Lab and includes many of Seattle's funniest standup comedians, short filmmakers, and performance artists. Comedy Cornucopia is one of the countless activities exploding out of ACT that opens doors for artists and inches the organization one step closer to its mission to become a true art center. Justin Freet, a collaborative partner for RAWSTOCK, explains how the Central Heating Lab is crucial to his development as an artist, 'In any artistic community, there inevitably manifests a struggle between following your muse and settling into established formulas that feel 'safe'. The Central Heating Lab provides an eclectic mix of collaborative partners and also allows us as artists to feed the muse; to not just allow, but encourage fringe filmmakers, dancers and actors to get gonzo.

CHL is devoted to nurturing and supporting new works, new talent, and local artists spanning not only theatre, but also cabaret, music, dance, spoken word, film, and performance and visual art.
