Dallas Chamber Symphony's season opens tonight, October 13 at 8pm, with an incredible collaboration between the Orchestra, Dallas VideoFest 28, and SMU's Division of Dance. The evening features Fritz Lang's 1927 film Metropolis, and a new film score by Brian Satterwhite. Original choreography and stunning video projections by Christopher Dolder will make this a multi-dimensional, multi-media experience, unlike anything you have ever seen or heard before. The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today Let Us Now Praise Famous Men: The Films of Pedro Costa, from July 17-23. The series precedes the opening of the Portuguese auteur's long-awaited, "hauntingly beautiful" (Variety) new film, Horse Money, which played last fall at the 52nd New York Film Festival and opens theatrically at the Film Society on July 18.

Trader Joe's® Silent Movie Mondays return in March featuring the theme GERMAN SILENTS. The three part series will include masterpieces varying from science fiction to literary classic to documentary of daily life in Berlin. German-Jewish artists who fled to the U.S. and had significant influences on American Cinema made all of the films to be featured throughout the month. Following each film, CineClub will be held in The Paramount Bar. CineClub includes a community discussion around the film of the evening, silent film trivia questions and exploration of the silent film genre.
Cast Announced for THE RING CYCLE at Birmingham Hippodrome This Autumn

During the first week of November, the Mariinsky Theatre returns to the UK for an operatic showcase of Wagner's Ring in Birmingham at the historic Hippodrome and three operas originally written for the Mariinsky including the most recent Levsha (The Left-hander) by Rodion Shchedrin. With a 300-strong troop of musicians, soloists and chorus starting the tour in Cardiff with Prokofiev's Betrothal in a Monastery, Valery Gergiev proceeds to London to present Russia's national epic Mussorgsky's Boris Godunov followed by the UK premiere of The Lefthander, both in concert versions at the Barbican.
