The Public Theater announced a four-week extension for the world premiere musical HAMILTON, with book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda. Inspired by the book 'Alexander Hamilton' by Ron Chernow and directed by Thomas Kail, HAMILTON begins performances on Tuesday, January 20 and was originally scheduled to close on Sunday, February 22. The musical will now run an additional four weeks to Sunday, March 22, with an official press opening on Tuesday, February 17.
Freestyle Releasing will soon release DANCE-OFF- a film written by Amy George & Mark Goodma, with direction by Alex Di Marco. Featuring the talents of Shane Harper, Kathryn McCormick, Finola Hughes and Broadway veteran David Burtka, the movie will be available on all digital platforms beginning October 7, 2014.

The Theatre School at DePaul University will present IN THE HEIGHTS, music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, book by Quiara Alegria Hudes, and conceived by Lin-Manuel Miranda, in the Fullerton Stage Theatre in the new Theatre School building located at Racine and Fullerton. The production, directed by Lisa Portes, premieres on Friday, October 3, and runs through Sunday, October 12, 2014. Performances are Wednesdays through Saturdays at 7:30 PM and Sundays at 2 PM. Previews are tonight, October 1 and tomorrow, October 2, at 7:30 PM.
This fall, the Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) presents Maryland to Murano: Neckpieces and Sculptures by Joyce J. Scott, the first exhibition to examine the relationship between Scott's beaded and constructed neckpieces created in her Baltimore, Maryland studio and her more recent blown glass sculptures crafted in the Berengo Studio on Murano Island in Venice, Italy. On view from today, September 30, 2014 to March 15, 2015, this exhibition demonstrates the interplay between these two bodies of work and reveals the range of Scott's technique and skill as well as the complex relationship she has shaped among adornment, content, and methodology.
