John Tiffany's production of Once, winner of eight 2012 Tony awards including Best New Musical, will open in the West End in Spring 2013. With book by award-winning Irish playwright and screenwriter Enda Walsh, the London production of Once will open at the Phoenix Theatre on 9 April, with previews from 16 March 2013. Currently booking to 30 November 2013, Once will be produced in the West End by Barbara Broccoli, John N. Hart Jr., Patrick Milling Smith, Frederick Zollo, Brian Carmody, Michael G. Wilson, Orin Wolf and Michael Rose Limited in association with New York Theatre Workshop. Prior to its West End opening Once will run at the Gaiety Theatre in Dublin from 22 February - 9 March 2013.

Producers of the Tony Award-winning Best Musical ONCE announced today that the production has recouped its capitalization after only 21 weeks (169 performances), faster than any new Broadway musical in more than a decade.
The New York Times is reporting that Alec Baldwin will return to Broadway in the Spring of 2013 in a new production of OPRHANS, to be directed by Tony-winner Daniel Sullivan. There is no word yet on a theatre or additional cast members for the production.
Over 20 years in the making, singer songwriter Glen Hansard will release his first ever solo album, Rhythm and Repose, on Anti- Records today, June 19. Best known for his work with The Frames, The Swell Season and in the feature film Once, for which he won an Academy Award, Rhythm and Repose is Hansard's debut solo album and first album of new material since his 2009 release Strict Joy with The Swell Season. The album will be available for pre-sale at the Anti Store.
In recent months Hansard has been seen in the documentary The Swell Season which has toured the film festival circuit this year, contributed two songs to the blockbuster soundtrack, The Hunger Games, and been active in the promotion of Once, The Musical which successfully opened on Broadway on March 18. The cast of the Tony nominated Best Musical, ONCE will perform live on WNYC's "Soundcheck" Friday, May 25. "Soundcheck" can be heard locally at 2PM and 10PM EST on 93.9FM. The production opened to raves on Sunday, March 18, 2012 and currently plays on Broadway at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre (242 West 45th Street).
