Music Theatre International (MTI) has awarded the Courage In Theatre Award to Manhattan's P94M, also known as The Spectrum School, a special education school in New York City. The Spectrum School's name comes from its ultimate goal: to provide Special Populations Educated Creatively Through Rigor, Understanding and Motivation.

Aurora Theatre returns for the sixth year for Lawrenceville's Prelude to the 4th Concert with the musical adaptation of Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. The Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association's (GLAZA) 42nd Annual Beastly Ball is set for tonight, June 16, 2012, 6 pm, under the stars at the Los Angeles Zoo, announces GLAZA President Connie Morgan. The Honorable Richard J. Riordan, former Los Angeles Mayor, and actress Sarah Michelle Gellar, the Tom Mankiewicz Leadership Award recipient, are being honored at the fund-raiser. The Ball traditionally attracts 1,000+ attendees and raises $1 million or more for the Zoo.

Broadway at Birdland previously announced a partnership with multi-Grammy and Tony nominated composer Frank Wildhorn for a monthly concert series called "Frank & Friends." The series of one-night-only concerts will feature the songs and performers from the composer's range of work in popular, theatrical and classical music. All profits will go to The Actors Fund, a nationwide human services organization that helps all professionals in the performing arts and entertainment.

The Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theatre were established in 1990 and are awarded annually to institutions, individuals and/or organizations that have demonstrated extraordinary achievement in theatre, but are not eligible in any of the established Tony Award categories.
