Watch: Season Finale Promo For THE GOOD DOCTOR on ABC

Jones Street Productions presents the New York premiere of Moolah, a new comedy by Arje Shaw (The Gathering, Magic Hands Freddie). Directed by Charles Messina (A Room of My Own), the limited engagement plays 16 performances only, April 5 - 29 at Roy Arias Stage II (777 Eight Avenue, between 47th - 48th Streets). The official opening night is April 12 at 7:30PM. Tickets are currently on sale at Ovationtix.com.

Comedy Central announced today that its newest game show series Taskmaster, hosted by Reggie Watts (The Late Show with James Corden, Comedy Bang! Bang!), will premiere on Friday, April 27 at 11:00 p.m. The series, whose format originated in the U.K., requires individuals to use ingenuity and creativity to complete unusual challenges. Throughout the season, Watts and his co-host, Alex Horne, judge five unwitting contestants which include Freddie Highmore (The Good Doctor, Bates Motel), Kate Berlant (High Maintenance, Search Party), Dillon Francis (DJ, Record Producer), Lisa Lampanelli (stand-up and insult comic), and Ron Funches (Trolls, Undateable) as they compete independently against each other in a series of stupefying tasks. Taskmaster will air two back-to-back episodes on Fridays at 11pm ET/PT for four weeks.

The Jazz Epistles were South Africa's first black jazz band, pioneering a new musical form influenced by bebop and traditional South African music. Inspired by Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers, The Jazz Epistles formed when the Dollar Brand Trio from Capetown-which included pianist Abdullah Ibrahim, bassist Johnny Gertze, and drummer Makaya Ntshoko-combined talents with alto saxophonist Kippie Moeketsi, the late great trumpeter Hugh Masekela, and trombonist Jonas Gwangwa. Their first and only album, Jazz Epistle, Verse 1, released in 1959, brought them international acclaim. Following the 1960 Sharpeville Massacre and the increasing oppression of the apartheid government-including the prohibition of jazz music-band members emigrated to Europe and North America. Two of them, Ibrahim and Masekela, would go on to become jazz stars in their own right. 

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts announced the 2018 winners of the Kennedy Center/Stephen Sondheim Inspirational Teacher Awards-a series of annual grants which recognize American teachers by spotlighting their extraordinary impact on the lives of students. Four teachers were selected in 2018 from a pool of nominations received through the Kennedy Center's website. Award recipients each receive $10,000 and are showcased, along with the former students they inspired, on a website dedicated to inspirational teachers. The awards, created by the Center in honor of Stephen Sondheim's 80th birthday in 2010, were initiated and funded through the generous support of Myrna and Freddie Gershon. To date, 75 awards totaling $750,000 have been presented.

Ride the Cylcone, this season's dark and hilarious co-production between The 5th Avenue Theatre and ACT - A Contemporary Theatre, is now in preview performances and has its official opening night this Thursday, March 22 at ACT - A Contemporary Theatre. The award-winning director and choreographer Rachel Rockwell has continued to refine and explore the world of Ride the Cyclone with its writers Brooke Maxwell and Jacob Richmond, returning to direct after working on its two previous U.S. productions in Chicago and Off Broadway.
