BACKWARDS IN HIGH HEELS plays in Tucson at the Temple of Music and Art from September 10 through October 2. It continues its run in Phoenix at the Herberger Theater Center from October 7 through October 24. The Tucson media sponsors for the 2010-2011 season are Tucson Lifestyle, KGUN9 and MIX-FM. Alliance Repertory Theatre Company Presents BOOM 10/8

Alliance Rep. Artistic Director Michael Driscoll of Linden directs a talented cast consisting of Beth Painter of Westfield, Lilli Marques of East Hanover and Gus Ibranyi of Bloomfield. Set design is by Darianna Fraser of Clark with lighting design by Ed Pearson of Middlesex. The stage manager is Kelly Maizenaski of Middlesex.

Old Globe Receives 5 NAACP Theatre Awards

Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced that the Old Globe's world premiere productions of Sammy and The First Wives Club - A New Musical were the recipients of five 2010 NAACP Theatre Awards. The awards presentation was held on Monday, Aug. 30 at the Director's Guild of America in Hollywood.

Fraser, O'Hare & Coolidge Open Elling at the Barrymore Nov. 21; Previews Nov. 2

As BroadwayWorld previously speculated, Brendan Fraser, who's film career includes The Mummy, G.I. Joe, Encino Man, Journey to the Center of the Earth and other films will make his Broadway debut in the Simon Bent play - Elling, Variety reports. The play, which will begin previews at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre on November 2, will open officially on November 21. The production will also star Denis O'Hare, Jennifer Coolidge, and Richard Easton and will be directed by Dough Hughes and produced by Howard Panter.
