A time-bending story of culture and politics that explores the mystery around some of the greatest music ever composed, Our Great Tchaikovsky will begin April 11 and close May 13.

Pianist Kariné Poghosyan to Tour California

Armenian-American pianist Karine Poghosyan kicks off her spring California tour on Thursday, April 12th at 7pm with a solo recital showcasing the music of Aram Khachaturian at the Brand Library and Art Center in Glendale. Ms. Poghosyan, one of the world's foremost interpreters of Khachaturian's music, will be performing selections from her critically acclaimed debut release, Khachaturian Original Piano Works and Ballet Transcriptions on the Naxos Grand Piano label, featuring many of the composer's rarely heard and relatively neglected works for piano.

Armel Opera Festival Presents Réka Kristóf, Soprano

The Armel Opera Festival presents REKA KRISTÓF, soprano the winner of 'Virtuosi' 2017, Hungary with Aneas HUMM, baritone and Gergely BOGÁNYI, piano.  This special concert is on Wednesday, May 16 at 8:00 pm at Well Recital Hall (Carnegie Hall). Peter Klein is the executive Producer. The program will include some concert classics by some of Hungary's famous composers, and those of other world renowned composers.  Tickets will soon be available.  

New Jersey Symphony Orchestra Presents Bach's Complete Brandenburg Concertos

The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra presents Bach's complete Brandenburg Concertos May 17–20 in Newark, Princeton, Red Bank and New Brunswick. Concertmaster Eric Wyrick explores performance practices from Baroque to contemporary as he leads his colleagues. NJSO musicians perform solo roles in the six concertos, each of which is scored for a different combination of instruments.

David Robertson To Conduct the New York Phil In 27th Annual Free Memorial Day Concert

David Robertson will conduct the New York Philharmonic in Vaughan Williams's Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis and Saint-Saëns's Symphony No. 3, Organ, with Philharmonic organist Kent Tritle, at the 27th Annual Free Memorial Day Concert, Monday, May 28, 2018, at 8:00 p.m. at The Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the performance; ticket distribution will begin at 6:00 p.m. The audio of the performance will be broadcast onto the adjacent Pulpit Green, weather permitting. The program will be presented without intermission.

HK Phil Presents Songs Of The Earth By Mahler And Ye Xiaogang

The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (HK Phil) proudly presents two Songs of the Earth in one programme on 27 & 28 April in the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall. Alongside Mahler's famous settings in a German translation, native Chinese composer, Ye Xiaogang, presents the same seven ancient Chinese poems in their original language.

Hungarian State Opera Announces 2018/19 Season

16 premieres, 60 repertoire pieces, the inauguration of the Eiffel Arts Studios as well as the reopening of the Opera House are all featured in the 2018/19 season of the Hungarian State Opera. Until these venues are opened the resident companies of the Opera carry on touring: apart from guest appearances in county towns and Hungarian settlements beyond the borders of Hungary, the Opera is to visit New York, Berlin, the capitals of the Visegrad Group, and several Italian places that played an important role in the life of Puccini.

The ensembles of the Fort Worth Youth Orchestra (FWYO) will usher in the Spring with two exciting concerts featuring a brilliant combination of recognizable audience favorites and thrilling new works. The Philharmonic, String, and Junior String Orchestras will take to the stage on Sunday, March 4, 2018, for a concert that includes music by Beethoven, Brahms, and Liszt, and features the winners of FWYO's recent concerto competition. The principal Youth Orchestra ensemble will then close out the month with a special concert on Sunday, March 25, 2018, under the baton of Spanish guest conductor Vicente Ariño Pellicer.

Stanislav Ioudenitch, Artistic Director of Park International Center for Music (Park ICM), announced today that their spring season kicks off in March with a world-class European performer never before heard in Kansas City and in one of Kansas City's acoustical gems, the 1900 Building in Mission Woods, Kansas. Ukrainian piano virtuoso Alexander Romanovsky, whose extraordinary technique and interpretive acumen have garnered critical plaudits in the United States and Europe, will perform Franz Liszt's incandescent first piano concerto with the Santa Barbara Symphony, under the baton of Maestro Nir Kabaretti, on Saturday, March 24, and Sunday, March 25.

MacArthur Genius Basil Twist's SYMPHONIE FANTASTIQUE Opens 3/29

Symphonie Fantastique - the singular creation by designer, director, master puppeteer, and MacArthur "Genius" Basil Twist - returns to its original home at HERE in a 20th anniversary production for 12 weeks only, March 29-June 17. Set to Hector Berlioz's revolutionary 1830 score, Symphonie Fantastique, for the first time in New York, features live piano accompaniment by Christopher O'Riley. Hailed as a creative masterpiece when it debuted in 1998, the production is set to open on April 4 and a presentation from HERE's Dream Music Puppetry Program and a centerpiece of HERE's 25th anniversary season.

Actor, Musician, Composer Delights at Seattle Rep in HERSHEY FELDER AS IRVING BERLIN

The story and music of America's Composer come to life on stage with Seattle Repertory Theatre's presentation of Hershey Felder as Irving Berlin, a play-with-music written and performed by award-winning actor and musician Hershey Felder (Broadway's George Gershwin Alone, Off-Broadway's Maestro; Our Great Tchaikovsky, and others). Directed by Trevor Hay, Hershey Felder as Irving Berlin will play the Bagley Wright stage February 23-March 18, 2018 (opening night is February 28, 2018), and tickets are on sale now through the Seattle Rep Box Office at 206.443.2222 and online at SeattleRep.org.
