New Works, Performers and Pre-Concert Events Added to Lincoln Center's 2014 Mostly Mozart Festival, Running 7/25-8/23

Jane Moss, Ehrenkranz Artistic Director, today announced program updates for the 48th season of Lincoln Center's Mostly Mozart Festival, New York's acclaimed annual summer celebration of classical music, which runs from July 25 - August 23, 2014. The changes and updates include new singers, additional works to be performed, as well as artists and programs for pre-concert events. This information updates details announced on April 9, 2014.

Thomas Cooley to Step in for Anthony Dean Griffey with Atlanta Symphony at Carnegie Hall, 4/30

Carnegie Hall today announced that tenor Thomas Cooley has agreed to step in for Anthony Dean Griffey, performing Britten's War Requiem with Music Director Robert Spano leading the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Chorus tomorrow evening, Wednesday, April 30 at 8:00 p.m. Mr. Griffey is unable to appear due to illness. Mr. Cooley is joined by soprano Evelina Dobraeva, baritone Stephen Powell, and the Brooklyn Youth Chorus.

Utah Symphony Announces Mighty 5 Open-Air Concert Tour, 8/11-17

The Utah Symphony led by Music Director Thierry Fischer will tour Utah's red rock country, home to the state's five iconic national parks, in August 2014 with free outdoor performances surrounded by the landscape of Capitol Reef, Arches, Canyonlands, Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks. Presented by the George S. and Dolores Dore Eccles Foundation, The Mighty 5® Tour represents a collaboration between two of Utah's great treasures, the state's leading arts organization, Utah Symphony | Utah Opera, and the unparalleled natural beauty of Utah's red rock country preserved within the five national parks, collectively known as "The Mighty 5."

Lincoln Center Announces MOSTLY MOZART FESTIVAL 2014, 7/25-8/23

Jane Moss, Ehrenkranz Artistic Director, today announced the 48th season of Lincoln Center's Mostly Mozart Festival, New York's acclaimed annual summer celebration of classical music, which runs from July 25-August 23, 2014. This year's Festival will feature more than 35 events across several venues including concerts, opera, dance, pre-concert recitals and lectures, late-night performances, contemporary music, and premieres of two commissioned works. The Festival kicks off with two free events: the world premiere of a new work by John Luther Adams, performed July 25 and 26 for free on Hearst Plaza, in a joint presentation with Lincoln Center Out of Doors, and continuing an annual tradition, the free preview concert by the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra at Avery Fisher Hall on July 26. Renee and Robert Belfer Music Director Louis Langree returns for his 12th season to conduct the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra, which will perform a wide range of works anchored by the Festival's featured namesake. Mostly Mozart will also present world-renowned artists and returning Festival favorites, such as violinist Joshua Bell, Mark Morris Dance Group, Emerson String Quartet and Artists-in-Residence International Contemporary Ensemble, as well as 14 Festival debuts, including pianists Yuja Wang and Steven Osborne, and violinist Patricia Kopatchinskaja.

New Amsterdam Singers to Present SHAKESPEARE IN SONG, 5/22

The New Amsterdam Singers, led by music director Clara Longstreth, will present the final concert of its season, called Full Fathom Five: Shakespeare in Song (Composers of Many Lands in Love with the Bard) on Thursday, May 22, 2014, at 8:00 p.m. at Saint Ignatius of Antioch Church, 552 West End Avenue at 87th Street. The program includes four major choral cycles on Shakespeare texts for a cappella choir by 20th- century composers from England, Switzerland, Finland, and Denmark. The evocative poem/song from The Tempest, 'Full Fathom Five,' appears in three of the cycles.

Utah Symphony to Welcome Guest Pianist Ronald Brautigam, 11/15-16

Classical music triumvirate Beethoven, Mozart and Haydn create a powerful repertoire that includes perennial favorite, "The Magic Flute" Overture, for Maestro Thierry Fischer's sixth Masterworks concert on November 15 and 16 with Utah Symphony, and acclaimed guest pianist Ronald Brautigam.

Lincoln Center Announces 2013 White Light Festival Lineup, 10/24-11/23

Ehrenkranz Artistic Director Jane Moss today announced the roster for Lincoln Center's fourth multidisciplinary White Light Festival, October 24 through November 23, 2013. The Festival's focus is music's capacity to illuminate the many dimensions of our interior lives, with a particular emphasis this year on the power of the voice. Spanning numerous musical traditions, genres, and disciplines, the Festival will offer 23 performances, films, and events featuring seven premieres and debuts by artists and companies from more than a dozen countries, including France, India, the Netherlands, Spain, Germany, the U.K., Mali, Estonia, Italy, Austria, Canada and the U.S. New to this edition of the Festival is White Light on Film, film screenings followed by discussions with their directors. Other Festival components include: a panel discussion focused on the subject of time, pre- and post-performance artist discussions, and the popular post-performance White Light Lounges.

Singer/Composer Molly Holm Debuts With PERMISSION Album, 2/19

Molly Holm has been a visionary presence on the Bay Area music scene-as an original member of Bobby McFerrin's Voicestra, as a featured singer with Terry Riley and Zakir Hussain, as a Mills College adjunct faculty member-for more than three decades. Her far-ranging artistic pursuits, however, have not included recording an album of her own-until now. Holm's overdue and highly anticipated debut, 'Permission,' showcases her unique, fully-formed jazz vocal artistry. The CD will be released February 19 on her Rinny Zin imprint.

CBS Sports Announces Final Tip-Times for NCAA Regional Finals

Turner Sports and CBS Sports announce tip-times and match-ups for the Regional Finals of the 2012 NCAA(R) Division I Men's Basketball Championship on Saturday, March 24 (4:30-9:00 PM, ET), on CBS. Louisville will take on Florida / Marquette in the first game (4:30 PM, ET) followed by Syracuse playing Ohio State at (7:05 PM, ET).
