The Public Theater  has announcedd a one-week extension today for the New York premiere of HEAD OF PASSES, part of Oskar Eustis' 10th anniversary season. Written by Tarell Alvin McCraney and directed by Tina Landau, HEAD OF PASSES officially opens tonight, Monday, March 28 and was originally scheduled to close on Sunday, April 17. It will now run an additional week through Sunday, April 24.

Just last night, Columbia University, Ambassador Jean Kennedy Smith and Tony Kushner honored the winners of the 2014 Edward M. Kennedy Prize for Drama Inspired by American History with a program and reception at Columbia University. The winner of the 2014 Kennedy Prize is Dominique Morisseau for Detroit '67. Morisseau received a cash award of $100,000. The event honoring her work featured remarks by Carlos Alonso, Dean of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences; Tony Kushner, Edward M. Former New York Yankee Willie Randolph attended this Saturday evening's performance of Bronx Bombers. Randolph, who was the second baseman for the New York Yankees from 1976 - 1988, and served as team captain from 1986 - 1988, embraced the cast after the show, exclaiming 'I love this show, these are my guys!'
