Twenty-two years ago, long before television shows about choirs became all the rage and Walt Disney Concert Hall was merely a sketch on a napkin, one celebrated local institution, the Los Angeles Master Chorale (LAMC), made a commitment to mentor and train hundreds of young singers and their choir directors each year through the Los Angeles Master Chorale High School Choir Festival.

The celebrated Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles (GMCLA), noted for its versatile repertoire and commitment to promoting civil rights, tolerance and acceptance through music, showcases a range of classical works by such composers as Felix Mendelssohn, Francis Poulenc, Franz Schubert, when noted guest conductor Cristian Grases leads the chorus's second concert of the season, "A Mighty Voice," on Saturday, March 26, 3 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Sunday, March 27, 2011, 3 p.m., at LA Theatre Center in downtown Los Angeles.

Ward off the winter doldrums with wonderful music by the Hudson Valley Singers as they celebrate their 60th Anniversary year with a series of concerts in the tri-state area beginning in White Plains on Sunday January 9, 2011, at 3 PM at the White Plains Presbyterian Church, 39 North Broadway. Their tour continues into New York City on Saturday January 15 at 7 PM at the Church of St. Ignatius of Antioch, 552 West End Ave. at 87th St and New Jersey on Sunday January 23 at 3 PM at St. Marks' Episcopal Church, 118 Chadwick Road, Teaneck.
