Dominique Levy Opens Inaugural Exhibition Today

Dominique Levy has announced her gallery's new home in New York City and the inaugural exhibition Audible Presence: Lucio Fontana, Yves Klein, Cy Twombly, which will open to the public today, September 18, 2013. Installed in the gallery's historic landmark building at 909 Madison Avenue at 73rd Street, Audible Presence explores the relationship between the time-based procedures employed by three of the most influential artists of the 20th century and the auditory experiences of music, sound, and silence.

American Theatre Wing Gala Raises Nearly $700,000

The American Theatre Wing (William Ivey Long, Chair; Heather Hitchens, Executive Director) announced today that its annual gala, held last night at the Plaza Hotel, was the most successful in the organization's history, raising nearly $700,000 (besting the previous record, which was set in 2012, by approximately $100,000). All proceeds from the evening will benefit the education and outreach programs of the American Theatre Wing, which include SpringboardNYC, the Theatre Intern Group, the National Theatre Company Grants and the Jonathan Larson Grants, and will also support free access for students, aspiring professionals, and the general public to programming on AmericanTheatreWing.org, including the long running television show "Working in the Theatre."

Rebecca Luker Joins Cast of CINDERELLA Tonight!

Three-time Tony Award nominee Rebecca Luker will join the cast on Broadway as Cinderella's Fairy Godmother, Marie, starting tonight, September 6 through January 19, 2014. Ms. Luker takes over the role from Victoria Clark, who leaves Cinderella temporarily for a new project, returning to the musical on January 21.

Cinderella welcomed its first same sex proposal last night, September 4, directly following the 7:30pm show. The couple, Jason Aronne and Kunal Ghose, lives in San Diego and have been together for two years. Ghose said: 'Growing up in India you don't hear many western stories but you do read Cinderella and it left a lasting impression of finding 'happily ever after' on me. Nicholas Phan Launches Trinity Wall Street's CELEBRATING BRITTEN FESTIVAL and More in 2013-14

Tenor Nicholas Phan will kick off his 2013-14 season as one of the prime voices heard in celebrations of the composer's centenary as they culminate this fall. Today, September 5, Phan helps launch Trinity Wall Street's four-month Celebrating Britten Festival with the orchestral song cycle Nocturne. The tenor also curates the 2013 Collaborative Works Festival as the Artistic Director of Collaborative Arts Institute of Chicago, performing Britten's Canticle II: Abraham and Isaac and The Heart of the Matter, plus folk-song arrangements by Beethoven (Sept 11-15). Phan and pianist Myra Huang then embark on a U.S. recital tour - starting at Trinity Wall Street on September 21 - with a program juxtaposing Britten and Schubert.

Ars Electronica Festival 2013 Kicks Off Lineup, Now thru 9/9

This year's Ars Electronica Festival is set for today, September 5-9 in Linz. The title is TOTAL RECALL - The Evolution of Memory.
