Son of Semele has announced its full line-up of 2018 programming at the Son of Semele Theater, located at 3301 Beverly Boulevard (@Hoover) in Los Angeles.New for 2018, performances in the first two weeks of Son of Semele Ensemble shows will be pay-what-you-can. In addition, Son of Semele continues to offer all patrons a complimentary beverage with proof they took a taxi, Uber or Lyft to the theater.

Cortland Repertory Theatre is announcing a full line-up of shows and events for the winter and spring at their downtown performing arts facility, located at 24 Port Watson Street in historic downtown Cortland. Admission prices vary per event. Starting in January, a series of monthly TRIVIA NIGHTS are planned for the third Thursday of the first four months of the year. At 7:00 PM on January 18, February 15, March 15 and April 19, trivia buffs in teams of up to 4 people will be challenged to six rounds of five questions in a wide range of topics. This fund raiser for the CRT Youth Programs encourages friendly competition between families, friends and businesses, with prizes for each round and one evening Grand Prize, including CRT tickets. Admission is $5.00 per person and a beer/wine cash bar will be available.

St. Ann's Warehouse welcomes back the singular vision of Irish playwright/director Enda Walsh in the American Premiere of his gut-wrenchingly funny and achingly poignant Ballyturk, co-produced by Landmark Productions and Galway International Arts Festival, producers of Walsh's Misterman and last season's Arlington.

David Sedaris returns to one of his favorite cities, Seattle, from January 5-11, 2018. For 7 consecutive evenings, Sedaris will delight Seattle audiences with workshop readings at the Broadway Performance Hall from his soon-to-be-published essay collection Calypso. The intimate 295-seat setting allows audience members to be up-close-and-personal with Sedaris as he polishes the final draft and answers questions from the audience. All workshop readings begin at 7pm with one 2pm matinee on Sunday, January 7, 2018.

Cortland Repertory Theatre is announcing local Youth Auditions for actors between the ages of 10 18 for the summer productions of the Disney musical Newsies (June 25 July 28, including rehearsals) and the Pulitzer prize winning play Our Town (July 16 August 11, including rehearsals). Auditions will be held on Thursday, January 25 from 4:00 7:00 PM at CRT Downtown, 24 Port Watson Street, Cortland. Bobby Darin was the most captivating and versatile entertainer of his time, a singer/songwriter/arranger who effortlessly bridged the gap between rock 'n' roll, sophisticated nightclub swing, and folk. Lyrics & Lyricists' 2018 season kicks off with a celebration of Darin's life and improbable career in The Bobby Darin Story, with Tony Award nominee Jonathan Groff (Hamilton), David Pittu (The Front Page), George Salazar (Here Lies Love), Elena Shaddow (The Visit) and Stephanie Styles (Roman Holiday SHN San Francisco). L&L producer Ted Chapin wrote the script and helms the creative team of director Alex Timbers, and music directors Andy Einhorn and Andrew Resnick, with musical staging by Chase Brock.

The era of the jukebox musical seems to be here to stay, and Australia its fertile ground to spring from: the Beautiful story of Carole King, the adaptation of Whitney's Houston's catalogue into The Bodyguard, mega-hit Jersey Boys, and of course Dream Lover comprising the instantly recognisable sounds but widely-forgotten story - and legacy - of the multi-talented Bobby Darin. Easy thought it might feel to relegate this musical to the contemporaries of its time, Dream Lover's powerful messages of obstacles overcome, dreams fulfilled and sacrifices for success connect to every audience member. Darin's life, adapted for the stage by Frank Howson, Simon Phillips and Carolyn Burns based on an original concept by Frank and John Michael Howson, seems too dramatic to be real, and this larger-than-life production tames that line between truth and fantasy brilliantly.

The Public Theater announced the exciting national and international line-up today for the 14th annual UNDER THE RADAR FESTIVAL, running January 4-15, 2018.

Boogla Nights Productions will present the World Premiere of June Daniel White's new comedy DELTA IN THE SKY WITH DIAMONDS or Maybe Not at Theatre 54 at Shetler Studios from January 25th through February 10th. Directed by Michael Padden, the darkly romantic play stars beloved veteran actor Austin Pendleton as 'God' with Ms. White as 'Delta', Bob D'Haene (Lyle), Regina Gibson (Hollywood), Melissa Hurst (Bobbie), Joan Porter (Rosie) and Vincent Tacali (Tommy/Ralph).

Jeremy Kushnier (Nurse Jackie, Broadway's Footloose , RENT ), Jessica Phillips (Law & Order SVU, Broadway's Next to Normal ) & Denny Dillon (SNL, Saturday Night Fever, United 93) will star in Absent Mind , a film written and directed by Emilie Khair.

As we count down the last days of 2017, New York City's top theatre critics have been taking stock of the theatre season- deciding on their personal choices for their favorite productions of the year. With so many stellar plays, musicals, revivals and new works, both on Broadway and off, a slew of shows have gained recognition from the critics this year.
